I'm seeing friends around the country having luck walking into Best Buys and grabbing them off the shelves.  If you live in an area that is away from big cities and happens to have a Best Buy nearby, it might be worth contacting them to find out when they're getting more stock, and then waiting around for it.  They limit buyers to 1 card but some cards have a $1000+ premium at the moment so it's probably worth the effort and maybe bring a friend or two along.

I just got an evga kingpin at msrp waited on list from 1/31/2021 got it last week.

1/31/2021 to 7/7/2021 is a long Time to wait for a card. but it is a fucking beast.

What list? I want to be on that list.

I’m glad to see cards starting to be in stock at high prices and hope I’ll be able to catch one at MSRP soon. I wish I had navigated this GPU shortage better. I sold off my GPUs from my gaming rig thinking I’d upgrade and was never able to find upgrades.  Sad

Prices are still a bit high, but at least there is hope!

When do you think we will return to a time when you can buy GPUs at MSRP regularly?
Despite seeing minuscule declines recently, realistically it'd be in 2 years or so [in general] and I already factored in the changes with Ethereum.

Is this an opportunity for an unknown chipmaker to step up and battle with AMD/Nvidia for market share?
Defnitiely and perhaps it's Tianshu Zhixin [source #1 and source #2] but at the same time, there's also the following strange news about intel [link].

It's slowly starting to get better.
Microcenter has some now and then @MSRP if you are lucky enough to get one when they come into stock and if there is a Microcenter near you.
evga.com has some at MSRP when they have them in stock
The biggest killer now is going to be the back to school kids blowing their summer job money on a gaming machine for the fall. Then comes Christmas.
I *feel* there will be some deals on black Friday

This crypto adoption process has been pretty rough on gamers trying to build new systems. When do you think we will return to a time when you can buy GPUs at MSRP regularly? Will the Ethereum changes make mining less popular? Will companies step up production? Is this an opportunity for an unknown chipmaker to step up and battle with AMD/Nvidia for market share?

Maybe in Jan or Feb if you mean new ones with warranty.
