What are people’s thoughts on 1070ti versus 1080ti?  I know the 1080ti has higher earning potential, but is the cost for electricity more than the increase?

Whether or not the increased power consumption is a significant factor depends on the PSUs you can get, and your electricity rate. The 1070ti is definitely an efficient option when it comes to power (more so than the 1080ti on most algorithms, when clock settings are optimized for efficiency with that specific unit), but the 1080ti isn't too bad itself.

Thanks for the input!  I have 1070tis, but have been contemplating using the 1080tis since nothing is ever in stock.

so gtx 1060 3gb is a better buy than 6gb?
Yes imo, Eth will go POS before the DAG is an issue, and I get 24 MH/s mining ethash and 300+ mining equihash

Hi everyone!
Did anyone calculate, is it cheaper to buy graphic card and all infrastructure, or just miner?

yea i want to mine Zcash with it, but some people were saying that when etherium dag file rises enough Zcash might also get a dag file and i don't want to face it with a 3gb card. otherwise i also think it's great for Zcash since it gets about 300 sol/s and uses less than 100W.
another thing. is a dual or even a triple fan gpu really necessary or is a small single fan gpu enough.

Ive got 2GB cards running cryptonight still. wouldnt worry if one coin is unminable since there are other options

The 3GB 1060 isn't a great option for ETH. However, it was (and perhaps still is) one of the best low-mid range cards for mining equihash coins. At the cost of rig density, it gives a competitive ROI time if you can get one at a reasonable price, which usually isn't too hard.

do you think 1060 3gb are gonna be able to mine for long? they are nearly 100€ cheaper than 6gb versions but hashrate is just a bit lower.
wanted to order a motherboard PSU and rx 580 from newegg, price:380€ would end up paying 540€ which makes it worse than just buying it from my own country.
amazon, ebay, everything is either out of stock or really expensive so i'm mostly looking for used stuff.
gtx 1060 3gb from 220€
6gb from 300€
1070 cheapest i could find is 400€
970 190€
rx cards sometimes there is a 4gb of 470 for 250€ but usually they all hang above 300€
now i've been throwing numbers into calculators for a while and i can profit usually from 5 months with proper tuning and on.
what do you guys think is it even worth it?

1080Ti is the best GPU in the market for mining depending upon it's cost.

vegas are the best profit wise, but both the 1080ti an vega are too expensive

1060 (3) is no longer cool? Why would anyone want to buy 100 ti?

I love my single fan EVGA 1060 3GB rigs. Best bang for the buck.

I have considered adding a few rigs running the 1070Ti's but the price on them right now is excessive.

And I don't know a single place which has any in stock.  I ordered some back right around Xmas from Amazon and they have been on backorder since then.  Newegg is out, EVGA is out, I can't find any for a normal price.  Most are going for $600+ right now and thats insane.

gtx 1060 3gb doesn't seem bad for Zcash, but after etherium dag file reaches a certain level zcash might have a dag file too so idk maybe 3gb just seem much.

so i'm getting an rx card and a decent 450-650w PSU, but the rest of the system i'm thinking about buying a used and old PC, can any mobo power and read my GPU or are there any specific requirements? I'm aiming at total price of about 350€ with rx480 a bit more maybe.

A mobo slot with more PCIe slots is recommended for future expansions, z270's are widely used as it can also be resell when mining is not already profitable and decided to give up digging. Also I think 650w would not suffice if you want to expand later on.
yea but i would go 2-3 GPUs since i don't have much money. if i want to upgrade later i can keep the GPUs put PSU in my gaming PC and sell the rest of the equipment for a bit of money. can mobo be limited how much VRAM can it take or are older mobos even compatible with something like an rx480 that has GDDR5 and is 8GB?

None of those cards are selling for a good price.  Also, use Google.  This isn't exactly difficult information to find.
yes but these are by far the chapest in my country. i haven't found any accurate sources comparing these two.

A good option would be to go with RX 400/500 series or GTX 1070 Ti.
Yeah, GTX 970 is a no go compared to the cards you could get Smiley.
What equipments are better to buy for bitcoin minning?
For BTC mining go for an ASIC miner. For an altcoin mining rig divide you budget at least for a capable CPU like the 4th gen i3 or the Pentium g4400 if you go Intel for AMD at least a good FX CPU or go for the Ryzen 3 1200 which you could also use for mining if you want , a good but cheap motherboard, at least a 4gb ram and it depends on the system(for the newer gen it will be ddr4), at least a 125gb SSD for a fast boot if you encountered a problem but if you do not want an SSD an HDD will do, and for the last a very good PSU because you do not want to burn your system(for brands check Corsair, EVGA, Be Quiet, Fractal Design, Inwin, Rosewill,Super Flower and Seasonic). The majority of your budget will go to the GPUs and also do not forget to buy PCIE raisers if you will be doing a multi GPU setup.
Anybody give a suggestions ....have to buy a new gf card....
Note : low cost with high efficiency and also gud quality...

you cant mining BTC use GPU, if you want to mine bitcoin than you have to pick up ASIC minner. if u're using PC for mining make sure to mine ethihas, equihash, lyra or cryptonote  algo, it still profitable to mine on that algo. right now I preefer to mine cryptonote algo ( monero, bytecoin, intense coin ) if you are using AMD card, and equihash algo if you are NVIDIA

yea but which one 480 or 470. 470 comes at least 50€ cheaper but obviusly the mining performance is worse. with which one would i get faster ROI.

50€ difference for a RX 470 4G to RX 480 8G, go with the RX480 quickly,  Grin Higher Mem would always be an advantage of course, not to mention a higher resale value compared to 4GB later on when you decided to give up mining.

i am building a cheap mining rig and i have found a couple of offers.
 1. palit gtx 1070 super jetstream 390€
2. asus rx470 4gb strix 220€
3. sapphire rx480 8gb nitro+oc 260-280€(depends if the owner lowers the price)
4. i can also get a gtx970 for 190€ but i think rx or newer gtx cards are a better deal here.

i'm mainly looking here at rx480 and rx470 since they are quite cheap, but which one is better and what are avg. hashrates achiavable with these cards.

thanks!
