Damn, that is crazy!  One of my friends is trying to RMA a card right now and Sapphire won't even answer their phones.

Fortunately, none of my cards are Sapphires...  the 6870's are XFX, the 6750's and the 5770's are HIS, and the 7970's are Diamonds.  I have no experience with Diamond but that was the only brand available, damn they all sold out quick...  I had a pair of XFX 7970's in my shopping cart that someone else bought out from under me while I was logging in Sad

Any RMA for Sapphire has to go thru their support vendor via e-mail tell him to use [email protected]

Once the forms are filled out and paperwork faxed to them, they are pretty responsive.

I paid $600 each, hoping to get 700MH/s out of them after DiabloMiner is tweaked a bit more...   I've been having trouble finding 5970's or I would have opted for that instead.

Thank you very much for your help!

Well 5970 are being sold regularly for ~350$ on ebay.

I have problems with diamond card, maybe they're trying to make a comeback.

how much did you pay for those 7970 ?  Look like they're not worth it to me. Am I missing something ?

It's an XFX card, and they issued me an RMA immediately when I called them after my ticket had idled for a couple days through New Year's.  I figured a warranty replacement for the $20 shipping cost was better than a $14+shipping replacement fan from ebay, and being out of commission longer won't be such a big hit soon considering it will be just one of nine cards.

Yeah, they'll go in a machine with two slots but just a single 5770 at the moment.  When the two monsters are installed it will become my main box.  My current main box has one slot and was running a 5870 for 10 months until the fan died, now it's got one of the 5770's from the other machine.

Having my hashing power halved while the 5870 is RMA'd has been making me antsy, especially with what the price has been doing lately!

Can't believe you returned the card for a fan.

Think all the money you lost waiting , How long did the rma took / company ?

Hello all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.  Just bought a pair of 7970's, a MSI 890FXA-GD70, 2x each of 6870's and 6750's, a couple kingwin 1050W supplies, and some of those damn molex'd extender cables.

The two 7970's will go in a win7-64 box, and the 890FXA-GD70 will host a pair of 5770's in addition to the 6x00 cards, and run BAMT from a thumb drive.

Anyone have some thoughts on these setups?
