I don't trust the pro-troika news sources, such as the BBC and the CNN. Right up to the day of the referendum, they tried to scare the Greeks and tried to pop up support for the YES camp. And this article gives an impression that it is the pensioners and the middle-aged who voted NO. According to the ground reports, it was just the reverse. The younger voters overwhelmingly supported NO, while the middle-aged and the elderly were evenly divided.

ROFL. Nice story, I have to admit. But I don't agree with your conclusion. Do you think that Germany helped Greece out of sympathy? That is not the truth. Germany allowed the bailout, to save the German banks who had purchased all those Greek bonds. Without the bailout, the German banks might have become insolvent.

Their reactions will be predictable, IMO. Countries such as Italy and Spain will become bolder now, demanding new terms from their debtors (including the International Monetary Fund). I agree. Most of the Greek government contracts went to the German companies (in various sectors, such as transport, defense and communication). The governing politicians from the New Democracy and the PASOK were bribed by these German companies, and they got the contracts through fraudulent means.

Freedom To Greece. Its only one vote and they will be discussing other deals (to keep Greeks in Euro) but i hope in the end they decide to use their own currency. If that happens i recommend the Greeks to quickly buy as much gold/silver/btc/usd as possible before their currency devalues fourfold. Their independent finance system come back slow and strong, but will be a long road ahead.

Preliminary results have NO in fact winning. I don't see how Greece gets to keep the Euro if it defaults. Maybe it will have a dual currency system or something that will help it devalue internally.

It's not mind control more like scare mongering, quite a lot of people vote opportunistically, so either they'll vote for who's going to win or who's going to give them the most, it also scares people away from voting a certain way, so saying yes has one will mean no voters might not go out.

We had a very close run with the Scottish referendum and it was basically when parliament ran a smear campaign against the independence movement that switched things around quite a lot.

Woow, thanks for the link it is really interesting. I am really excited to see what the Greek people will choose... not also for the question of bitcoin price but also because I live in Europe.

The first official results will be released by 9:30 pm Greek time (7:30 pm British time). By that time, 30% of the votes will be counted, and these figures will give us a clear trend. BTW, the voter turnout was exceptionally high, probably crossing the 70% mark. And meanwhile, all the exit polls are giving advantage to a NO vote.

Yeah but that happened with the Scottish referendum where the No side was clearly more energetic and persuasive but then Westminister pulled the old bait and switch and said if they'd vote yes they'd give the scottish parliament more powers and we all know how that went.

I saw in TV that the ballot paper have to be marked with a cross, not an "X". If they write an X vote is invalid. Someone know if is this true?

How you can be sure that the Grexit will not trigger a chain reaction? If the Greeks default on loans (and suffer no serious consequences as a result of it), then what stops Spain and Portugal from doing the same? It all depends on how Germany handles this situation. If Greece leaves the Eurozone and survives on its own, then it will encourage the other indebted EU members to doing the same.

In less than 12 hours time, we will get to know the results. 3 out of the 5 latest opinion polls predict a YES win. But I really hope that they vote for NO (Όχι). A YES vote means even more austerity, and indirect slavery to the troika as a result of it. The Greeks should not surrender their sovereignty to anyone else. VOTE NO!
