Hello, as I know, buying and selling bitcointalk accounts are not against the rules but account sales are discouraged.

Why he can offer this account without any problem?

Thanks for the explanation.

I have seen your mentioned account has been red taged. Please lock your thread to avoid future discussion and spamming. Thanks

What should be done with the account then? Can you suggest an alternative which doesn't promote account selling and also gives seller some coverage over his loss? I don't encourage account sells either.

Don't accept accounts as collateral. Seems that the OP of that thread was willing to lend it to friends for a few years so recovering the amount wasn't the priority at all.

I wasn't against the idea of account sales a few years ago, but it's obviously a massive problem now, and has been for a year or two now. Before, it was just recommended to use escrow with everyone to avoid 'trustworthy' members that had exchanged hands from scamming. It's way to wide spread of scamming, spamming and other kinds of abuse which accepting accounts as collateral isn't recommended.

I didn't see this particular account sale, that's why, and nobody reported it to me via PM.

You should ask The Pharmacist and Lauda to respond here.
I tagged him.  An older member should know better than to sell an account here like that, and as far as I'm concerned it's even worse because of the type of account being sold.
Good work The Pharmacist! Thank you.

And I have another good account for you, The Pharmacist Wink, kindly look here: http://archive.li/dk8Hd

I hope that also Lauda will see this post to tag him.
The another seller deleted his post so I have edited my post with archived website Wink. Tag him please Wink.

I don't particularly agree with the tagging of this activity, but there really isn't really any point in rehashing that argument.

I do think if you are going to be tagging anyone for doing this, you should be tagging everyone (that you are aware of). So given your stance, I am glad you didn't make an exception for him.

If it was still 2015 sure. But, this isn't really an accepted thing to do anymore, and I would of thought they would of known that they wouldn't be able to shift this on if the loan was defaulted. I know they state that it was defaulted on a few years ago, but the only thing that matters is that they are trying to sell it now.

The answer is that lenders should not accept forum accounts as collateral. This answer is obviously damaging to the economy, however it is the only solution to make the trust system be applied equally to everyone.

At the very least the account being sold needs to be revealed to the public so that negative feedback can be left for the defaulted loan. Because, at the end of the day even if an account changes hands legitimate or not, they need to be left trust according to their history.
True.Like I said if revealing in public is a concern then the account should be revealed to a DT member who will leave a neutral/negative trust as per his choice.

He is selling an account which defaulted a loan. This was trendy when people used to take accounts as collateral back in the day.I'm not sure if that deserves a negative feedback but a neutral rating with a warning that the account is being sold should be left.I mean the seller has to reveal the account to one of the DT members privately and let them tag the account.

I have received a negative trust ONLY for asking not buying account, He is selling an account! Should receive negative trust from DT members as many people here received for same thing!

Well, and explain me the difference between account earned from unpaid loan and any other account? Lauda said that: Account sales encourage scams, spam, and account farming.
DT members - rules are for everyone, not only for few people!
Every matter should be looked at on case by case basis. While I agree account sales encourage spam/scam but when the account is already tagged with a neutral trust, a sensible member wouldn't take that account seriously.DT members don't enforce any rules, they simply tag stuff they find shady. This is just what I think, maybe Lauda will tag the account? Who knows?

Thanks for the explanation.

Anyone can offer the account he wish to be sold or auctioned since it is not against the forums rules but it is up to the default trust to decide to give him or not a neutral or a negative trust.
