any long experience with this wallet ?
I used this wallet for a few months last year and it worked as it should. The big "bonus" is the Segwit support that is already implemented in both GreenAdress and GreenBits app.
You can read about a few features GreenAdress has in this page: https://greenaddress.it/en/faq.html
That was good news i was looking for a long time segwit supported wallet.. but just curious if you already use this wallet with big amounts?
So because i was planning to use the wallet if ever they are trusted when putting big amount in greenaddress wallet..
I just heard this from other thread including the other segwit supported wallet..
And hope other  people to can give us a feedbackabout using this wallet.. here ..

I have a valid 24 word mnemonic string for a GreenAddress wallet, but I can't log in. I enter the mnemonics, it decodes up to 100%, then it offers me to add a 4-digit PIN, I enter 4 digits and hit Confirm, but then it just stays there.

The words seem valid (if I deliberately omit or mistype one, just to test, it says "Invalid mnemonic: Checksum does not match").

Tried Chrome as well as Firefox, on both Mac OS X and Windows, using fresh clean browser or private window (to get rid of any earlier cookies) but no go.

What should I do?

4) You can check the combination of multisig by spending them or by checking yourself against our publickey using your mnemonic (we use the m/1/ branch)
For reference if you don't want to check on the blockchain our public key is 0322c5f5c9c4b9d1c3e22ca995e200d724c2d7d8b6953f7b38fddf9296053c961f

So do you use the same private key for 100% of the customer wallets as the 2nd signing key?

I have downloaded this to my Samsung Note 3 phone, and to torch (chrome based browser) and use the web for access.
I do like the ability to access on different platforma w3hile having the security you offer in place with it.

I would love to see what the default fee is for sending bitcoin shown on the transaction so that I can modify the send to be sure that the recipient will be getting the correct amount.
One approach might be that we enter the amount to send, and the screen shows what the recipient will receive, the added fee and what the total amount being withdrawn from the wallet will be. This will add some clarity.

The Multisignature means malware can't just steal your key from memory and take your funds as it would also need to steal your 2FA.

Blockchain is having some trouble yes, but this is imho unrelated.
The point is that they don't offer 2FA per transaction but just upon login.

Perhaps this wallet is interesting. I am just curious what will make it very secure. As even blockchain.info suffer few problems ...

We just released https://gentle.greenaddress.it/

We have tested it against both testnet and prod but I suggest you verify yourself too in testnet or until you feel safer and we are more established.

Check the code out, is open source.

Cheers!

No problem!

Indeed interesting!

Small update: improved link to FAQ and Support in Wallet and added the Logout link as suggested

Nlocktime should come real soon and we have even more features in the pipeline so keep an eye if you are interested!

cheers

Hi Abdussamad

1) Receiving addresses: Yes, good point, it will be added to settings.

2) Mnemonic: We will consider this, absolutely. Please note that we use the same dictionary as the BIP 0039 https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/BIP_0039 reference implementation https://github.com/trezor/python-mnemonic

Have you tried the PIN functionality ? The mnemonic passphrase is encrypted using a 256 bit long AES random password. The password is then stored server side and provided to the user against a PIN number and some saved wallet identifier. If the PIN is guessed wrong 3 times we delete the password requiring full passphrase to authenticate again.

3) Logout: Being added below Settings as we are speaking, we have moved it a bunch of times and decided where it has to be.

5) type mnemonic: it is not a bad idea but not great for onboarding. We do make sure they can't continue without reading & ticking our TOS and hopefully read in big that the mnemonic must be stored securely. It is a difficult trade off. Good point anyway.

Thank you for the feedback!

I've played around with it. Some feedback:

You may want to list old receiving address in the UI somewhere. It's a bit disconcerting when you generate a new address, browse elsewhere and then go back the address is gone. If you've handed that address out to someone and later forgotten about it then it helps to see it listed in the UI so that you can say "yes that address is mine". It also helps you recognize your account if you see familiar addresses in it.

The mnemonic is too long to memorize. If you can please increase the dictionary size and make the mnemonic 12 words.

Add a logout link when using a wallet restored from mnemonic. Maybe it's there but I can't see it. Is it there?

It's multi-sig but how do we know what combination of n of m it is? There must be some way to independently verify it.

Electrum makes you type in the mnemonic before it creates the wallet. This ensures that you noted it down correctly. You should duplicate this functionality.

Hi  RGBKey,

I work for GreenAddress.it

If you want to try it, you can use the https://test.greenaddress.it/faq testnet version with the testnet faucet.
If you do test it, please don't forget to send back the test coins to the faucet.

At the moment, while the site is up and most functionality is there and works the functionality related to presigned nlocktime transaction is not live yet, meaning that should we disappear you won't have access to your wallet unless we release our private key. This doesn't mean that we can take the funds, just that you wouldn't be able to take them if we are down.

With nlocktime presigned transaction even if we disappear you won't lose your coins, you will just have to wait for an expiry period of your choice.

If you want to try our prod version feel free and we would love any feedback you may have.
To be on the safe side, limit yourself to small amounts of btc until we provide nlocktime presigned transactions and the service is more established.

Thank you!

roslinpl, do you have any feedback ?

It seems like a good idea for a web wallet and secure as far as I can tell but I've only seen it mentioned on the forums once and it doesn't have it's own thread. Can I get some opinions on it?

I don't ever never heard about it and I will not ever use it Smiley

thanks.
