I had a high hope that some bitcoiners might like and try to plant & grow some more trees in the name of bitcoin. Who is doing this anyway ?




Thanks. I wish all the internet users, especially the social network users to plant at least one tree each in the name of the Internet and social networking sites, search engines. It just need to get started and if become viral, then some might like to do so for the sake of all the free services. I am working on to some related campaigns and hope that will be fruitful in it's mission.




As long as there is no shortage of enough fossil fuel, there will be no shortage of electricity, as large part of the electricity is being generated by burning fossil fuel. Irrespective of availability of fossil fuel, the biggest concerns is about the greenhouse  gas effects being generated in the process. Planting trees will not solve the problem entirely, but it will subside the bad effects a little.

I don't really think bitcoin mining is affecting the environment that much. I care much for the environment as much as anyone and I believe planting trees should be done by everyone because we destroy so much of the world's forests yearly for our everyday needs but I don't think bitcoin mining is damaging the environment that much. Yes it uses lots of electricity but the cooling systems bring the temperature to normal.

In this and well because the digital currency does not incur losses and problems for the environment and it turns out that there will be no problems if only the digital currency will remain

Planting trees is really a nice thing to do, especially if we really care for our environment. But I really don't think that planting trees can really help solve the problem in the electricity.
Trees can only produce oxygen and not electricity.

But please, don't get me wrong. I like the Idea of planting trees to help the environment, I'm just emphasizing that it cannot do any good in the shortage of electricity because of Bitcoin.

But bitcoin doesn't related with illegal logging. The owner of this thread just want to minimize the effect of bitcoin mining.
it is a good concept i think. if 1 bitcoiners plant 1 tree, the earth may be greener in the future.

In fact, any electronic currency is good and eco-friendly. Paper shouldn’t be spent on the production, and huge money from the budget shouldn’t be spent on printing this money.

My humble answer is thousands. But my target is to plant and be a part of at least a million trees. And I will try my best to accomplish that as soon as possible as my situation allow me. It's not about solving the whole problem right away. It's about trying to do something worthwhile than doing nothing. It's about starting a trend against that hype, so it could hit the bulls eyes and come to mainstream media.

The gaming industry, streaming sites, social medias cause more greenhouse gas effects than BitCoin mining. But BitCoin is in news and I think such a campaign can eventually become viral/trend and billions of trees might get planted around the world by Internet users. This is my first ever post here other than on my own website, a facebook page and twitter.

Destruction of large amount of trees & green forests is one the the biggest reasons of climate change. The destruction of green textures of the Earth, will make it warmer day by day. Climate change is happening and it's one of the biggest issue of present days. Will make documentary about it soon.

So let me ask you one thing.
How many trees have you planted already?

You know, when you want to start a movement, you must be the first to do it and then ask people to follow

very interesting idea, I am also one of the people who want global warming, if we as bitcoiner can participate in reducing globalization with your plan, then I will join if this become community for environmentally friendly internet usage

I think it is a very good idea. The people doing this, should take a photo with a Bitcoin logo next to it or even make a little

video of them doing this. We can go all over the world planting trees to cancel out all the "damage" that was done by Bitcoin

mining. This can go viral and garner a lot of positive media attention. If someone can create a environmentally friendly label

to attach to these trees, it will even be better. Put a QR Code with a link to a video that explains the project onto this label.

Do you think that planted trees can solve the problem of ecology? The production of electricity does not harm the environment. You should focus on the protection of forests from logging. Every year China destroys more trees than all the users of bitcoin could go to jail. Think about it. I think you've been a victim of bankers ' propaganda.

hope everyone is doing well. I don't know whether it's the right sub-forum or not. I checked the politics & society sub-forum, but the posts there are not at par with my subject. So, here I am posting and if necessary, then please do move it to the appropriate section.

I am here to propose a plan to make the BitCoins a little more cooler, greener & eco-friendly. While researching about green computing and eco-friendly Internet usages, I came to know about the BitCoin's impacts on environment. As I read, many claim that BitCoin(mining) is causing severe effects and is linked to global warming & climate change crisis. A little search for BitCoin Global Warming will give numerous articles regarding this. I don't have any exact info, but a little research shows that BitCoin system(along with mining) consume somewhat substantial amount of electricity and that gives the reasons for such debates.

I am a supporter of green computing and eco-friendly Internet usages and have thought about some related campaigns to make the Internet and the planet Earth a little more cooler, greener & healthier.

There are billions of Internet users around the world and unitedly the Internet people can do wonders. How about planting trees in the name of Internet ? That would be a cool thing to do considering so many services on the Internet are free to use. I have already started  some Eco-friendly campaigns and hope those will be fruitful in encouraging others to be more Eco-friendly.

And here, I have little proposal, how about planting a TREE in the name of BitCoin !

BitCoin's market value is more than 100 Billion and also many people have made a lot of profits. If they could care a little and plant some trees, then that might subside some green house gas effects caused by BitCoin(mining).

To start with, some sensible forum members could start planting trees in the name of BitCoin and then the common crowd might follow that.

Anyway, I just stated my thoughts and hope some might like to do so.

And if you like this and wish to plant some trees in the name of BitCoin, then please plant, grow & protect as much trees as you can and encourage others to do so.
