You do not have to buy one whole BTC. Buy as much or little as you can afford. Eat rice and beans for a month and put the rest into BTC Grin

I first heard of bitcoin several years ago but didn't really grasp the implications.  A buddy of mine had been trying to start up a small graduate school and he had hired this young guy on as a consultant.  This consultant knew a lot about bitcoin, was running an international calling card service with bitcoin as the medium for doing business at the time, and was trying to set up my friend's school with a bitcoin payment system.  TBH, I thought the consultant was full of BS and stringing my friend along, but the idea of bitcoin as a bank-free, unregulated way to do business intrigued me.

Nowadays, I'm attempting to get my pea-sized brain around various altcoins, like Peercoin and Ripple (although the wiki claims the latter isn't really an altcoin).  Mining or purchasing BTC would require funds beyond my crypto-wallet or fiat funded bank accounts ATM.

Cheers!
