Hello everyone.  I'm new around these parts and thought I'd say hello.  I've been scrypt mining for a couple of weeks now with about 2.5Mh/sec online.  GPUs have been hard to come by but thanks to my bargain hunting skills, I was able to procure a few 7950's.  It seems that everyone and their brother is getting into altcoins lately, judging by the growing difficulty on just about every scrypt coin out there and the scarcity of *aything* with an AMD/ATI logo on it.

I initially started out mining BBQCoin directly - but given the volatility of alts, I've been sending my hashpower to middlecoin.com and/or [Suspicious link removed] for the last week or so and letting them make the decisions for me.  Thus far it's been a pretty good way to go for a newcomer, particularly with all of the bad press the exchanges seem to get around here.  I'm curious how other newb's are spending their GPU time?  Are you stockpiling alts, stockpiling BTC, or cashing out into traditional currency?

And finally - given the mass influx seemingly over just the past few days - this can't last long, can it?  Rumors seem to be floating that ASICs for scrypt are on their way, and may already exist behind the curtain somewhere.  If that happens, what will we all do with our GPUs when they are no longer worth $500 on eBay?

Ah well, at the very least, it will be a story to tell the grandkids about the heydey of digital currency - and I'm enjoying the strange looks I get when I explain all of the machine noise in the basement.  It will be a fun ride and I hope it lasts for awhile.
