You see that is my problem I don't know which component to replace? Does anyone know how to figure that out?

i reversed my connections and burnt out a few parts.   but it still sees my usb connection.  maybe the usb port or components around need to be changed??

so what could cause this that the leds don't turn on and computer not recognizing it?
Not enough power to power the motherboard from the PSU?  Could just be a little trickle enough to power the fan, but I guess that's unlikely.  You should try measuring the PSU with a meter to see if it's putting out what it's supposed to.

in theory it should have tripped the power supply maybe toasted it but the miner should still work... in theory

Agreed shorting to the heatsink probably shorted the power supply and not the miner.

well the fan still turns on so there is life the only thing is that the leds don't turn on and the computer doesn't recognize it plugged in.

Long story short my power plug got unplugged and the plug touched the heat sink and shorted the miner  Cry. I was wondering if anyone also had this problem and, could tell me how did they fix it. I know that the miner is cheap and can be replaced but I would hate to see it thrown away if there is a fix for it.
