What is the current ROI on these machines ? Assuming 0.005 BTC/MH/day.

Thought i should point out that the grid seed is the wrong way up in the pic so will get to hot

Haha yeah it's upside down so the fan intake is completely blocked! You may not even need the fan in scrypt only mode, removing it saves another 2w!

i't because of the consumption. scrypt uses about 7-9 watts and sha256 scales off directly to 70 at least. it's normal

Alright, I thought it was specifically my units. I knew they usually run a little hotter than scrypt; however, the difference was quite noticeable. Thanks for reconfirming.

Do you, or anyone else have tips for cooling when running dual mode? LTC + BTC ?
They have a nice big heatsink, so the only tip I can give you is make sure you have good airflow around it. If you're running a few units get a cheap room fan and that should do it. You can also pick the coolest possible place in the house to run them (like the basement, garage).

Yeah, it seems like my room is not fit for these miners

The garage generally stays cool, but then again, we are in California, so its always hot.

haha, thanks for the advice though, I was thinking the same thing.

Well my friend I'm still waiting for mine to come. But extra fans always make a difference also you can try stacking them one on the other and make a column like rig it may help the airflow but in dual mode i'm not sure how middle seeds will react. Just sharing my idea. Good luck

Who else has gridseed/lightning asics miners and is mining bitcoin?

Have you noticed it is hot mostly when you are doing DUAL MODE: LTC + BTC and BTC ONLY?

When I am mining litecoin (scrypt) the power supply is VERY cool.
I am using the standard power supply as shown in these pictures: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pictureslightningasic-hardware-gridseeds-lightningasics-by-aj-miles-519093
