Seeing its function looks easy and certainly many will be interested in Grin coins.
It's not that easy you can imagine; there is no wallet addresses with Grin, neither a traceble transactions. A lot to say about its infinite supply and how it ensures scalabitity towards inflation (in long term run).
And as BitMaxz said: "if you don't have knowledge in Linux you can't easily use it the same as bitcoin."

People in crypto misunderstand tail emission. Grin outputs linear reward: 1 coin per second. This is a constant emission. As supply gets bigger, this emission eventually goes to 0. Over long-term, it'll behave like zero supply. I'm not sure how their developers decide on this emission. It seems like an effort to differentiate but they didn't really think through.

I prefer announcing this here instead of creating a new thread.

Few hours ago , Grin's General Funds received a donation of 50 btc from an old bitcoiner : 0810b1644cea890aad01564de5e4518ebcddb4c84df0c93223f050d580edee45
Funds are coinbase originated back in 2010. (See sender address)

The news was published today in Grin forum here : https://www.grin-forum.org/t/donation-to-the-grin-general-fund-nov-11/6446

I tested the coin for 2 types of sending option(I don't know if the coin has other payment option) via slate file or sending coin via HTTP/HTTPS and this is not easy to use
This is big problem. Bitcoin is easy and still very hard to some. If this is harder im not forseeing future for this coin.
Anyway, got me interested a little bit by your research i will dig into it now to be able to help others later on.
My point exactly, with the way bitcoin has been program, it is still very difficult for a lot of users to understand how it works even with its user friendly nature, how much more a project that is very difficult to understand by a user in the blockchain space.

Many companies just come up with so many blockchain projects everyday but one thing they always fail to do is to come up with something that is user friendly and easy to understand.

I tried to withdraw funds. But didn't Kno how to create an address. Crypto was suppose to be easy but this is harder than I thought.

There is no addresses with Grin, transactions are made in a ttal newly different way, with files or http listener. You should learn how to use it before buy. I don't suggest you to keep the coins in your exchange wallet.

From a couple of days, it took my attention the discussions and news about Grin. As i understood, Grin has different caracteristics from what we used to know about a coin in a Blockchain; there is no addresses to send to/from, transactions are made in a different way so they are not recorded. For now, it requires some setup to use it and limited to win10 64bits to run the wallet (best way to run it on Linux) sadly am a win user. Grin already traded on those platforms: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/grin

Grin is accepted as official payement method on bitcointalk forum when to buy a Copper-Membership account as mentioned by the admin: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/grin-is-now-accepted-for-forum-payments-5098450
Grin is a project developped by developers from all over the world and it's completely decentralized.

I'm not quite familiar with this altcoins, but when I checked in the exchange such as coingecko, kucoin, and bitforex, hotbit and more it was 6$ per token and its trading volume in the platform was ranging from 12M$ almost, which is if  I am going to think about I'm not sure of it so far, it seems that its been manipulated by the whaler just like on XRP(Ripple), in my opinion only.

I have bought some Grin coin a few days ago. I saw big potential in this coin and hoped that the price will go up with time. I bought it for 12 USD and now the price is around 5 USD. Such a downfall is a great example of false investment and a coin without a potential.

If this coin helps to solve the scalability issues of even the other blockchain networks like btc and eth network then i think this can go a long way in the mass adoption of the current blockchain networks especially if it is applied and implemented successfully it will create huge difference.

Coinmarketcap is also $ 2 before the grid is listed. After the listing was up to $ 14. Now it looks like it's going to fall to $ 5.

Grin is very very interesting coin, but it has one problem, its inflation is the biggest problem about this project I think. I do not understand why there is not defined max supply  Roll Eyes.

Its main purpose is to solve Bitcoin scalability and privacy issues.
This is one of the urgent question which no one yet know its response: Is green a sollution for the bitcoin blockchain (we will see the implementation for bitcoin) or it will remain to be a unique concept running in a seperate blockchain newely designed.

i am sure that if theymos never added grin to bitcointalk most people would have never even heard the name "grin".
Am not really sure about this. As it's not really specified in Grin but it is the cryptocurrency that is implemented based on the proposed MimbleWimble protocol; MimbleWimble concept is set since 2016: See Here

It seems to me that this is another “super-currency” which, in a few months, everyone will forget again, despite the fact that they now say a lot and many use it - it will never be able to repeat the success of Bitcoin, even despite the fact that this currency has many advantages which do not have bitcoin.
I do not think that this currency will soon be forgotten. those currencies that grow 600 percent during such a dead market - do really interesting things

grin is certainly an interesting project and it is exploring very interesting concepts in blockchain technology with its privacy focused approaches. but its economical design is terrible in my opinion. nearly a decade of experimental altcoins has proven that you can't really chose a big supply and a fast supply creation and also have your coin gain any traction in the cryptocurrency world

i am sure that if theymos never added grin to bitcointalk most people would have never even heard the name "grin".

this is exactly my concern, I actually bought some grin but quickly sold the last few days - lots of people are selling OTC really cheap and during the past few days seemingly miners gained 100s of % from sales, and the economics is pretty unclear. which is sad, considering how great a true privacy coin would be. but there's "Beam" too worth looking into

GRIN is a very interesting crypto for the whole blockchain area, because mimblewimble protocol introduces many innovative aspects. It doesn't fit well for investments due to its inflation aspects, but there is no doubt it's very promising for secure payments.

GRIN is a relatively new project that is an implementation of the mimblewimble blockchain. It is a non-commercial, community-funded open-source project that is being developed by community members – “by the people, for the people”. Its main purpose is to solve Bitcoin scalability and privacy issues.

I have heard rumors on this coin and got me FOMOed because of its popularity. And it is a good alternative for making payment system. I hope that this coin will survive from any market low attacks and well see this coin boom in the future.

This Grin coin looks attractive and is used in forums to get copper membership, maybe for beginners it really needs this coin so that any difficult mining must be able to be reached or learned. Seeing its function looks easy and certainly many will be interested in Grin coins.

For now, I can't see the future of this coin the same as other people said but since the admin support the grin coin as an alternative payment method for buying copper membership I feel that the grin coin can be trending soon as same happen on ethereum years ago.

I am also intrigued about this coin, because theymos is supporting it. He really saw potential in this coin, because as far as I know he never supported any other other coin before (please correct me if I am wrong). I value his opinion a lot, as many people do.

I need to read a bit more about grin , as I didn't get what is fantastic about it yet.

There are some things I didn't like... Unlimited supply,  hard to use wallets (just Linux), hard to send /receive coins.... I saw some good points also, as companies are already developing hardware for grin mining, anonymous privacy... But bitcoin can do those good things as well (except for gpu mining for now)

BTC price road to $80k

I don't know if other cryptos can be affected by this coin but since grin have these feature privacy and anonymous transaction people will love this. This is what I see about this coin.

I tested the coin for 2 types of sending option(I don't know if the coin has other payment option) via slate file or sending coin via HTTP/HTTPS and this is not easy to use and also it also has unique feature compared to other new coins.

I tried mining with gtx1070ti with this coin but the coins that I mined takes longer to mature and almost the transaction takes longer to receive if you transfer them to exchanges based on my experienced.

Also, this coin doesn't have a windows wallet and you can have a grin wallet if you have a Linux OS installed. You can generate a new wallet via command and you can send grin coin via command. so if you don't have knowledge in Linux you can't easily use it the same as bitcoin.
