To me the hype is deserved! Without premined coins excites everyone to mine. I helplessly already tried to mine with my 2006 notebook in vain, but worth it.

Now I'll have to buy in some new-to-me exchange.

Maybe in ten years I'll tell to my son: l saw the birth of this coin!  Cheesy

Here are the main differences between Grin and Beam (there might be more  Wink)

Beam:
- coded in C++
- "store of value" like Bitcoin, limited supply (252 800 000 BEAM)
- Equihash Proof of Work (PoW) algorithm
- 20% of Mining reward go into treasury

Grin:
- coded in Rust
- unlimited supply
- Cuckoo Cycle PoW algorithm
- no dev tax, only community funding
- very high inflation rate

I generally like the idea of the mimblewimble protocol an the "Confidential Transactions" but at the moment there' s too much hype for me about these coins.

I would stick with monero.
Didn't know mimblewimble is also coming to monero.

Those MimbleWimble coins are lately all over the news, Beam and Grin in particular (e.g. here is a good overview https://dapplife.com/grin-beam-how-revolutionary-are-the-new-mimblewimble-privacy-coins/ and Monero is also joining the MimbleWimble party  Grin  Which coin would you say has a brighter future: Beam or Grin?
