Groupon has attacked Gnome's trademark by creating a "operating system" for "tablets."  Now, Gnome is not an "operating system" per se.  It is only a GUI.  But it is viewed as a source of possible confusion.  They are accepting donations in bitcoin.  I am severely underemployed but in spite of all this I am considering a contributing to their legal fund.

This kind of thing has happened before.  There was Fidonet which was a telephone based network from the 80s before home Internet access became common.  This was usurped by Fido corp.  The other example is MINT.   This stood for MINT IS NOT TOS.  That was years ago as well and now we have Linux Mint which is now a very popular Linux distro.

The people at Gnome claim that other FOSS could be next.

I hope this is in the right place.
