VEGA consumer (gamer) cards aren't going to be here until August at the earliest. The professional oriented VEGA GPUs will be out sooner, but they are not going to be cheap by any means.

Hit ebay for cheap, used 1080's and you got some real good bang for the bucks.

No reason not to go with Nvidia if you don't mind the extra out-of-pocket cost. AMD still has the advantage in cost/hash, but Nvidia is definitely in the game, especially for ZEC and skein. My MSI GTX 1080 Gamining X gets 550 H/s @ 180W on ZEC. I got it for $509 after rebate. I think the 1070 is the sweet spot as far as cost-per-performance.

if you cna wait there is vega coming, but if you wait you lsoe money, vega is around the corner 1 month i guess, should lower other gpu value as well, nvidia is good, you can consider a 1070 which cost elss than a 1080 but it's very good on mining, watt/perf ratio is excellent

Hey guys, I am having really hard time getting the amd rx580 8gb. I was bumped down on one website from 6 units to 2... then on another website righ after I placed the ~$1800 order the website crashed. They are all back ordered and so forth. I started considering 1080 GTX for ~500 a piece. I would like someone's more experienced opinion regarding this issue. Should I go for the nvidia or wait and do the AMD like everyone else.
