Does the winner get anything special? Grin
I would say the price could be something in the 500s.
I don't expect big pumps before or during the halving. The big impect we might see a few months later.
So I will go with $506 on the halving day as my prediction.

I am quite surprised by the responses so far, I would have guessed people would aim a bit higher based on all the optimism I have detected on this forum for the Halving event. Looks like most

people are not anticipating a higher rise in the price than +/- $100. This is still a significant amount of profit, if you going to buy a bunch of Bitcoins and sell when it's high. Let's hope it is much

higher than $100 to get more attention in the media. We need a major price increase to stimulate adoption.  Grin

around the halving date the price is going to be between $450 and $500 and there might be a small rise or nothing at all, but after a while has passed and newbies have dumped their coins there will be the big rise and in one month it will go past $700

It is too hard to predict, i think we will see a huge jump in the price few days before the halving and after which may not be sustainable, i would go for something around $700

$415 - the uptrend looks be rolling over.  Bitcoin consensus looks questionable at this point.  Mining is mostly centralized.  After 6 years, there is still no concrete vision of long term scalability.

Of course this could easily be a bear trap... after all, the 21 million limit has yet to be compromised and looks to be set in stone.

My guess is that the price will reach a top of $525 before it will tank heavily to lower price levels again.

My guess is that it will be around $500 at the halving, but it will be closer to $750 before that. Shortly after the halving it will stabilize at around $400.
I think it will not hit at 750 before block halving. and i think $500 is possible to be achieve before block halving..

Just lets hope that the price will increase more before block halving..

I'll take $500. I think the $470 barrier will be broken by the halving but I don't think there will be a new ATH until long after it. The reduced supply will take time to affect the market. Eventually it will push the price to a new ATH.

I'll take your low side and say $350 Cheesy ...

But I mean seriously, the fact of the matter is that people are still going to have to *demand* bitcoins... it doesn't really matter if the supply cuts in half if there is no one wanting it because they think miners will stop all together.

Now I also understand that you could also argue that people really don't care and want to use it for a quick buck in speculation, but idk... I just see bitcoin running into too many problems... just my 2 cents.

edit: it is pretty funny how everyone just automatically assumes that it has to increase  because of the halving... not really that clear cut of a situation.

I think if every thing goes smooth and in right direction then price will be around $600 not more then that, this is just an belief and nothing is assured.

Let's start a thread, with people's prediction what the price would be, when the halving takes place and then come back to this thread to see who were the closest. You can substantiate and

elaborate on why you decided on this price you predicted. Just make sure you highlight the price to make it easier to spot a possible winner. My prediction for the price will kick of this thread and I

predict a price of $550 ... I think the price will be higher than the average {$450}, but a downward pressure from the people selling, when it hits the higher prices, will push it down again.

Let's see how close we can come to a accurate prediction. Good luck...
