Yesterday news that woman had vanished after seeming to go out on a date http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5106895/Nebraska-woman-24-vanishes-hours-sending-message.html and it recalls some similar stories of people gone missing then fading from the news.

Earlier this year a woman and her boyfriend, who had gone missing earlier, were found to have been victims of a serial killer who killed the man and kept the woman as a captive https://www.cbsnews.com/news/todd-kohlhepp-kala-brown-rescue-video-chained-like-a-dog-shipping-container-south-carolina/

And of course the women in Cleveland who had been missing for years, until one of them managed to get free http://people.com/crime/cleveland-kidnapping-survivors-four-years-after-escape-where-are-they-now/

And this strange vcase in North Carolina earlier this year http://kfor.com/2017/06/29/teen-missing-believed-to-have-been-held-captive-for-a-year-found-after-facebook-tip/

And this in Minnesota https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/09/08/raped-held-captive-for-29-days-girl-swims-across-lake-to-escape-police-say/

And many others

Most captives of course are held by governments. In the U.S. between 3% and 5% of people serving long prison sentences are innocent. There are about 2 million people imprisoned in the U.S., so that means at least 60,000 innocent people were abducted by "law officers" and are being held 24/7 and abused by confinement that is promoted by government.

Other than government captives, how many innocent people do you guess are held captive longterm today?
