Or losses, more like - with my present hardware. Thanks for making things clearer to me.

Mining seems a lot more difficult now. And takes some investment, too.

haha Smiley ooh yes it realy it is like that.

With standard (ehen strong) PC you can forget about Bitcoin mining.
You can mine some alts if you like.

Invest like 6k-10k $  and you can get some BTC

Wow. Thats alot haha . would earn your spendings back?

It will. Like in 2-3 months. Just check prices  / hashrate / calculate (google -> mining calculator)

I'm lazy to dig and read and would be really greatful for a useful link or two.

Particularly interested in CPU mining with the use of several PCs which are not exactly very powerful.

Thanks for any hint.

You can find a list of CPU-only coins here.
FYR: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-of-cpu-friendly-altcoins-379601

You can find details of those coins and the way to mine them with those links.

Probably not, if you are mining btc.
It would be better to build a GPU rig to mine scrypt-based altcoins.

I am new as well and to be honest, you really need to read a ton of threads here and as many articles as you can find.

Most people say you cannot make money mining without putting big money into a mining system, but everyone here seems to want to mine.
