What Is CryptoPunks?

These little faces with a few tiny pixels may not look special or have value. It's just a low-resolution picture, which varies from male, female, some smoke and others are aliens and others, but you will not believe when you know the value that some of them were sold for.
They are represented by NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. There are 10,000 bits of 8-bit pattern, all with unique features.

Who created CryptoPunks?

"CryptoPunks," were first released in 2017 by creators Matt Hall and John Watkinson as an experiment.
All 10,000 CryptoPunks are unique NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. 3,840 females and 6,039 males. Plus a different mix of some monkeys and zombies
The combination of different traits blended together ensures that each of the ten thousand traits is completely unique.

These CryptoPunks were initially available and distributed free of charge. All you have to do to get one is pay the associated Ethereum transaction fee.

The popularity of these artworks has skyrocketed since NFT revolution.

How do CryptoPunks work?

You can determine the authenticity of each CryptoPunk by hashing its reference image and comparing it to the hash of a particular image in the token nodes.
Since the images are too large to be stored on the blockchain, Larva Labs has created a composite image that contains every 10,000 tags. There is a hash for this in the CryptoPunks token contract.
