I saw that allot of guys struggling to get their 7970s to work over 700 Kh/s, and as it took me few weeks as well and allot of energy and allot of nerves and risk of hardware fail to get the right configs i thought it would be nice to post it here to save you allot of time and confusion and nerves, at the same time it is a big push for LTC to increase the market capacity making sure that you are getting the maximum out of your cards.
just to justify something , this results were reached with the following setup, i am not sure neither didn't try different models/OS/vendors. this is what i do have:
- Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
- AMD FX6100 Six-core
- Gigabyte GA990FXA-UD5 (5 PCI-E 16x although they wont work at full x16 if more than 3 cards)
- 2x8 GB Crossair 1600MHz DDR3
- 64GB OCZ SSD
- Enermax Platimax 1500 W (otherwise i recommend a PSU with only one 12V rail )
- 4x ATI sapphire DUAL-X HD7970
- if you want to put more than 4 cards in one system (did try up to 6) than you
must install ATI catalyst 12.6 it is the only driver which can support more than 4 similar cards. otherwise it had ATI catalyst 13.3 beta.
-if you are starting from scratch with new installation you are good to go, if not downlaod driver fusion and delete all previous drivers, install catalyst 13.3 beta than you are good to go.
- get the latest MSIafterburner, install it than go to the installation folder and open the CFG file with your notepad change the value as shown in picture bellow

-after that go to the control panel chose power options , use performance as your default profile and make sure that it looks like this

- set your cards with MSIafterburner with this settings core 1070MHz/1060mV , memory 1750Mhz/1640mV and make sure that your Temps are not higher that 72 C° otherwise you will have to think about better cooling.
-get Cgminer 2.11.2 or 2.11.3 it didn't matter for me , make sure to delete all bin files if you already have cgminer and Start it with the following settings --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256
you will get this results if everything works for you , maybe you will get even better results if you are lucky
Please appreciate the hard work that was putted on this and donate
