Somewhat weird way. Which in the case of some coins will lead to downtime and loss.
And different ISP may has different lease time for assigned ip and the assiging of a new address cannot be guaranteed, you can stay the same ip.
through my procedure you cant lose any coins.
it is always the same wallet.dat used and thereby everything runs synchronously
try it and you will see the result Smiley

I mean, while you wait for the next address to be assigned (which you can wait for a very long time depending on the provider), your second masternode does not work at this time. Accordingly, in these cases you do not receive a reward. I'm talking about lost profits / benefits.
Perhaps it depends on the coin. But, for example, those nodes that I keep do not allow downtime.
And if a restart is required (software update, power outage, etc.), then you have to perform the entire procedure again.

Yeah, masternode coins' wallets are same as other wallets and people can lose their other coins, includes bitcoin if they choose scam projects that have hazardous wallets.

There are some reasons that I don't think running masternodes, or directly staking Proof-of-Stake coins on computers or laptops that we use for tradings, storing bitcoins and other coins:
- Risks of attacks from terribly hazardous wallets.
- Not cost-effective operations. If someone use modern devices, they can run masternodes/ stake coins while do other stuffs, but in long term, it might not have good effects on your devices. For people who use outdated devices, it is worse idea with worse effectiveness.
- VPS costs nowadays are very cheap, so why not use them.
- I never install strange wallets in my important computer, even I already have good AV software.

If everything works and suits its ok. But there is another option.

If it is not profitable to spend on VPS, then you can use virtualization and VPN. Place additional nodes in containers (VMware, LXC, Docker, etc) and connect them to VPN. You can use commercial VPN or maybe you can find a good free one. Another way is to rent the cheapest VPS and install VPN on it yourself and connect your container with node to it.
Sometimes there are offers of VPS about 1 euro per month.

in this guide i would like to explain to you a procedure, how you can run several masternodes on your home-pc without any problems.

you actually need (if you do not have a fixed ip) to run one or more masternodes on your home pc, an external vps provider
that is no longer necessary, because what i practice for months and 100% works is the following procedure:

1. start your masternode from any pos project - with the current ip
2. your computer/mini-pc/rpi "must" be online 24 hours/day and should never be disconnected from the internet
3. in the time you collect your rewards with the first masternode until you have enough coins for a 2nd one, your internet provider will eventually change the home-ip again to 99%
4. when this is done, the first masternode will continue to run with the "old" ip and the "new" ip will be available for the second masternode
5. you can practice that again with the third, fourth, ... masternode

what else is to be noted, you have to create, for another masternode of the same project, always a new copy of the whole folder (where the wallet.dat is located) and rename it to "project name-2" for example - important: you need to create a shortcut for every new masternode folder
when all this is done you still have to complete the target where the shortcut-link should start

example:
masternode 1 shortcut: target: C:\name_of_the_project-1\wallet-qt.exe -datadir=C:\Users\your_user\AppData\Roaming\ProjectCore-1
                                   execute in: C:\name_of_the_project-1
masternode 2 shortcut: target: C:\name_of_the_project-2\wallet-qt.exe -datadir=C:\Users\your_user\AppData\Roaming\ProjectCore-2
                                   execute in: C:\name_of_the_project-2
...

with this method, i have already run 6 masternodes on 2 different projects. sometimes the provider changes after a week already the ip, sometimes only after months
if you are interested, just give it a try

ps: the internet connection should never be disconnected by yourself
