This is helpful for some high ranked accounts who still don't know how to resize via mobile.

High-ranked accounts that don't know some possible ways to resize images?

No pun intended but what did they do for years trolling and lurking on the internet? Huh

Firstly, if you read my note on the footer, I mentioned there are much better software for this, and also if you dont have any internet on the time you needed it for some important matter how can you do so?
IMO If there's no internet, I think there's no use of this also 'cause you can't change the avatar that can be changed only in the browser using the internet. It's like 'and' logic operator, both needed the internet to successfully change the avatar with the right size. If there's no internet, I'll just wait 'cause there is nothing I can do also.

Still, a very fine guide for beginners. Nice  Wink

IMO, if this problem (resizing images for avatar) is frequently asked here in Beginners & Help then I would suggest doing it on browsers than apps. That's all, thanks.

And with this I don't need to open laptop to resize avatar when joining bounties.
Companies often release avatars that meet forum requirements so participants don't have to resize. It is very rarely to see companies run their bounties with overlarge avatars. In such situations, they will resize their avatars after receiving complaints from participants.

@OP,
You made a thread on image (avatar, in particular)'s size, so I thought you should use the width, height options for images in OP. Current images in OP are too large.

Actually we don't need an app to resize pictures because there are some online tools available as mentioned so just upload the pic and resize into your desired size or you can do this any photo editing apps as well.

But we also need to know crop the pic before resizing it,OP's avatar is not matching with the real before resizes pic. Make your pic as square before resizing any pic or just add a pic to pic-square then resize it.

I do not usually download an application on my smartphone since it consumes a lot of my internal storage.

The size of applications is not universal, some only have 3-4 MB, others may have several hundred MB. Newer smartphones have very large internal memory, and there are also memory cards for memory expansion.  It is also important to clean unnecessary files from time to time, and if you use Android OS+Gmail, you can upload all pictures/videos to Google Photos (unlimited storage/free service). This is very useful if your phone is lost, broken, or stolen - you just need to log in to your Gmail account on any device, and you will have access to your files.

Well, yes. That will consume your internal memory if you don't have enough space memory in your phone. That is the reason why I use a web editor in my chrome app. I used this https://pixlr.com/ when I need to resize photos just like avatar but that is rarely happening because we don't usually change avatar here and also forum itself when posting photos have a feature of resizing. Indeed, this thread is very helpful to those mobile users that willing to make avatar just for personal use.

This thread was very unnecessary, apps requires storage and data, why would you download an app just to resize a single image? and most of the time, avatars aren't really needed especially here in the beginners section 'cause they're not allowed to wear avatars..

It is a good thing to post a guide regarding that but I find it very used already.

If you don't want to download that app due to shortage of memory, then try to browse this links,,,,,

  • picresize.com
  • resizeimage.net
  • resizeyourimage.com
It ll make you easier and more convenient than installing an app that has a lot of adds popping out of nowhere. You just need a default browser 'cause all of smart phones have default browser and just go the links I listed. ,,

If you're a samsung user, there's an installed app from samsung which is photo editor that allows you to edit the picture and resize it.
For some PC users, I think this is unnecessary also.
You'll just need paint tool and resize the actual pic.,,,  Cheesy

Aside from installing an application, you can also freely download a resized pixel image in the internet. I am using this site whenever I am changing my personal avatar. This saves a lot of your internal storage. Grin

PHOTO RESIZER APP

Step 1:  Download the app on Google Playstore or App Store. Third on list.

Step 2: Just click the app and option will pop up. Click the select photo. From here choose the image in youre internal phone memory.

Step 3: Choose the image to use as youre avatar. For me Ive pick this cartoon size photo of mine.

Step 4: Click the resize option. Remember the size of avatar that can be processed in forum is 120pixel wide; 80pixel tall; and 100KiB size.

Step 5: After clicking, a pop up section will appear. In the width x height option, just choose Custom then easily type values Ive mentioned in step 4 (Avatar size in Forum)

NOTE: There are some more useful software for this, but this guide is for forum users who often used mobile phones just like me.

Hope Ive helped you guys.
