I don't know how much data will be used if you upload GIFs for mobile users or opening threads with a users with a gif avatar but I checked my mobile on how much data is consumed and it's about 200+ mb of data within 9 days but i'm not sure if how much if I uploaded a GIF avatar. Some mobile device data consume data differently base on my observation and it's between android devices and an iphone 5s. Also refer to this site for more information http://www.analysysmason.com/About-Us/News/Insight/iPhone-data-traffic-Jun2012/

What are the ways and methods of creating such scripts,or have such scripts been created and are in use at the moment,if so maybe a link to it would help really.

I'm not a programmer so I have no idea on writing those scripts although I found some previous adblock script thread you can either use the script or contact the OP starters they'll enlighten you more. You can also drop your questions or suggestion on the thread and you'll possibly get a respond in no time.

We have scripts you can install and it'll blocked selected signatures based on the sittings.

You quoted the wrong guy, haha.

Thanks mate, I just corrected my mistake.

The forum did not do this right. They should have provided option for blocking some type of signatures not blocking all signatures in general.

This is where the usefulness of talented or skillful forum users comes to play. We have scripts you can install and it'll blocked selected signatures based on the sittings. The forum gave a direct solution of blocking all signature because allowing some and blocking other will look like an endorsement.

At a glance, it looked legit until I checked the profile and oh, a spambot.

I don't understand, how did it look legit when the reply was off topic and contains a link promoting and exchange? Anyways the user just help me increase my good reports counts and maybe I could own that Reporters badge if implemented.

Nowadays spambots are pretty sophisticated so their messages try to "fit" into topics, but you can somehow feel something's off after a double take.

The same message was posted in several topics, one which was related to an exchange so yeah. Anyways, we did our part in reporting and now they're nuked.

Personally, I already added that guy into my Ignore list immediately after seeing that post.
However, the first time saw that post, it was very annoying.

Great response to spambies.
Topic isn't self moderated so I have no power to delete his reply but I have done my best by using the report button. I also reported all accounts associated with promoting/spamming different thread/boards with the same post

The OP should play his / her moderational role and delete that post.

I doubt that you violate plagiarism somehow.

The forum did not do this right. They should have provided option for blocking some type of signatures not blocking all signatures in general. Admin should consider adding some option like, block ICO related signatures, block gambling related signatures etc. We should be given options to decide on what we want to see.

You can help them with the code, or make a script for that. Anyway, I don't really think we should go that extreme, we can simply ignore someone who wears the signature that we don't want to see. But tbh, I don't really care about signature at all, if it's ICO sig, I choose to ignore it, but if it's something like Bitblender, or Chipmixer (essentially any BTC sig), then I study in detail about their services. More or less, my stance is like Jet Cash.

As for the bandwidth issue, you can simple disable images on your browser, or build a script that will disable avatar to show.

I think it is a shame that members feel the need to block signatures because of all the scammy bounty spammers. Signatures are a small reward for active, responsible members, and depriving them of this reward is destructive for the forum. The solution is not for members to block signatures, but for irresponsible scammy signatures to be moderated.

A 3 line standard text restriction with a maximum of 2 or 3 links would be an alternative solution.

That's not the sole reason. There are also bandwidth concerns for mobile users or limited broadband quotas.

I dont mind seeing them but I understand why others dont want them around so it is a neat feature to have. They make good projects visible to potential investors and users and there is no problem with that.
What about avatars, are they still visible after disabling signatures? Someone suggested yesterday that gifs can eat up a lot of data for mobile users.

You have to disable Avatars separately. The checkbox is right below signature's IIRC

Signature is a very much discussed topic, with users having different views and opinions about it and it's usage. Everyone has the option of customizing their profile to suit their wishes, a user can ignore signatures other profiles, boards or whole sections.
We can use this feature as a temporary solution until a better system is implemented

@OP
And what about user signature after checking this feature? Will user will be able to use own signature? If able to use will others will be able to see it.
I will like to know the result of all these possibilities.

Yes you'll still have the privilege of wearing signature if your rank is above newbie. Also I believe others will still be able to see your signature. The sitting is just for your profile alone it doesn't affect others  so it'll only disable you from seeing others signature. Currently I have the hide signature feature enable so if you can see my signature it means when you enable yours, you won't see others signatures but they'll see yours.

Anyway I got one useful feature for me at Look and Layout preference.

Surprising I am looking for this feature , Instead of  finding this feature in "Notification and Email" , I found it there.

I already officially mentioned your topic there:
Today, a new guide topic published by CryptopreneurBrainboss
[Guide]: How to disable signatures without using scripts

I tried to search for available topics on this issue, because I remembered that I already read it somewhere.
I guess that it come from Jet Cash's post, not topic, so it's hard to find it.
Unfortunately, I could not find old topics on the issue (maybe I missed something).

If there is actually no available topic, this newest one might helpful.
Anyway, thank you so much because your topic is very helpful for someone who have not known how to disable signature's display.

But if you don't like signatures ads in general and you want to block them all, the forum has a solution.

@bitmover Ihat's why I have to make it clear in my OP,  I know there are few people who don't like seeing signature campaigns so I'm letting them know the forum has a solution for me.

Although signatures don't totally portal a poster rightly. for example I know of some users wearing a paid signature campaign when they aren't accepted in the campaign, other possible using bought accounts just to get paid.  Also some few decent posters settle down for altcoin bounty which they believe in or part of the company.

I got so used to signatures that they somehow tell me a lot about the poster wearing them. I like to see them.

Shitposters are mostly using token signatures from projects that are completely unknown to me. Those I just ignore.

Sometimes I see respectable members using interesting signatures, from projects that are unknown to me. Those are the projects worth checking out. Some of those projects may turn out to be a scams, such as Ethereum Vision that I discovered some other day (I discoreved it from a forum signature). But others may be interesting and worth checking out.

This information isn't a new one [although most new users don't know about it), it has been on the forum for quite some time now but due to the fact most users don't take time to browser through their profile sittings must have cause them to miss it.
This has to be the obvious reason,I actually didn't feel forum members were allowed to block signatures from their view except of course in boards such as the ivory tower or the serious discussion section were advertisements are not tolerated in any way
I have to commend you for this post,as it's added knowledge to those Like myself who didn't know of this feature.
Nice work OP

Signatures take up space and many members have been discourage from visting some boards like (Bitcoin/Altcoin discussion) so they won't have to see all those spammy signature ads.
I see many thread on using scripts (Adblock) to disable signatures although some scripts have some special features like blocking only signatures related to icos etc. But if you don't like signatures ads in general and you want to block them all, the forum has a solution.

This information isn't a new one [although most new users don't know about it), it has been on the forum for quite some time now but due to the fact most users don't take time to browser through their profile sittings must have cause them to miss it.

Step [1]: Click on profile (we all know where we can find this).

Step [2]: Click on the "Look and Layout Preferences" setting as seen in the image below. (This section allows you to customize the look and layout of the forum)

Step [3]: Tick the "Don't show users' signatures" box as seen in the image above.

Step [4]: Finally, click change profile (buttom right of your screen) to save your current profile settings.

Preview: This is how your screen will look like after following the steps above.
