It is not only about how to trade on Uniswap that matters, there are mistakes that people can make on the exchange. To know more about Uniswap exchange, this will be helpful https://www.google.com/amp/s/boxmining.com/uniswap-review-tutorial/%3famp.

Fake coins: Anyone can list their tokens on Uniswap, so there are people out there who list fake coins on Uniswap in the hopes of being able to scam people into sending their funds for these coins. So Uniswap users need to be extra careful in this respect- see our section below on identifying and avoiding fake coins on Uniswap which teaches you how to double-check you are sending funds to the correct transaction.

Fake coins on Uniswap: How to identify and avoid them
Because any coin can be added to Uniswap, there are lots of scam or fake coins on the Exchange. Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, so if you accidentally send your funds to buy these scam coins or tokens you will not be refunded. The logo and ticker of these fake coins can look exactly like the real ones, so you need to be careful.

You can verify if the coin or token is real by checking it on Coingecko. To do this, look up the coin or token you want to exchange to on Coingecko, at the bottom of the page find and click on the trading pair for Uniswap (see image on left). You will then automatically be taken back to Uniswap and the token will have been imported (see image on right).

Import token on Uniswap

Another way to verify that the token is genuine is to check it on Etherscan (see below). Again on Coingecko, find the token and click on the etherscan.io explorer. On the Etherscan window, you will be able to see the contract number for the token. Match this contract number with the number in the address bar in your web browser for Uniswap.

Check the token number on Etherscan against the number in your Uniswap browser.

Warning: Do NOT search for the token or its address on Etherscan. Always link to Etherscan via Coingecko or the project’s official website. This is because Etherscan itself lets you search for all tokens and transactions on the blockchain, including the fake ones.

Wallets that are supported for now
Uniswap allows users to connect directly to their Exchange, the following wallets are supported: MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, Fortmatic and Portis. I will prefer Mastermask wallet because it is non-custodail wallet type.

I would be better if you add the screenshots instead of picture taken from another mobile because the pic is not clear enough to identify in my opinion.
Thank you very much for your kind attention. In fact screenshots cannot be taken from metamask. I tried. So I took pictures with another mobile. I made the guide very easy. I think everyone can understand it if they look it carefully.

Good work OP, I didn't bother to trade on Uniswap yet but if it is seeded then your thread might be helpful for me to save some time to identify the things if I am new to it.

I need to bookmark this thread as it is really helpful. Thanks for compiling those steps and tips. Haven't used Uniswap yet so maybe in the near future, gonna be used it one way or another. As Uniswap is the new go-to DEX of most ERC20 tokens, we will find ourselves using that exchange if not today, maybe in the future. Same with Bitstar, I am only using Metamask via my computer not my mobile.

I think you have suggested   a valuable method to distinguish the scam, i.e. checking coins/tokens not only on Coingecko but by means of   addresses of  relevant smart contracts using etherscan. Many fake coins disguise themselves as reputable items changing only one character in their names and sometimes it's hard to notice.

Very useful information from both the OP and the second poster, especial being able to identify the real token from the fake one, i think newbies will find this thread very helpful in this regard, i know many innocent users have already falling prey to fake token as a result of lack of understanding, like has already being pointed out
I agreed. I never used metamask on android and it seems this is quite helpful. Only using it via browser on a desktop and trustwallet for android when connecting to uniswap. It seems I could try it out.

Also the second guy advise is quite noticeable and very helpful to those who have just started. Of course its easy to do the trading but some always fall on some brilliant fake project slipping a fake smart contract which lead to a loss money. This is the important part that you dont forget to check as always the right token contract cause if you just fall for those providing fake ones then sorry thats gonna be a huge mess.

Uniswap is currently the most popular crypto exchange.
really ? but what about binance and other top exchanges ? i thought they are the most popular and thier ranks wont easily got de throned by someone that is newly created . you mean to say popular on the dex category because this exchange is said to decentralized

But Uniswap Exchange is an exceptional type of exchange. That is why it is a little difficult to trade on Uniswap Exchange, especially for those who use Android phones.
it cant become popular if its not exceptional but being exceptional doesnt also mean difficult . binance is exceptional as well but its still user friendly and its normal that its hard to trade using a cellphone or an adroid phone than on using a pc but thanks for the guide .

Uniswap is currently the most popular crypto exchange. But Uniswap Exchange is an exceptional type of exchange. That is why it is a little difficult to trade on Uniswap Exchange, especially for those who use Android phones.

Android phone users need Metamask, Trust wallet, Rainbow wallet etc. to trade on Uniswap.  Now I will talk about how to trade on Uniswap using Metamask.

Step 1: First you need to download the Metamask app from the google play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.metamask&hl=en_US

Step 2: After installing the Metamask app on your phone, you can import your main wallet or create a new wallet.  If you want to import the main wallet, you need to enter the seed phrase of that wallet and create a new password.

Step 3: If you want to create a new wallet, first you need to create a password. Then you have to write down the seed phrase of your new wallet and confirm it. Now your wallet creation is done at Metamask.

Step 4: If you add main wallet to Metamask, now you can able to trade. And if you create a new wallet, then you have to send the token and transaction fee from your main wallet to Metamask wallet.  Then you have to add token to Metamask wallet.

Step 5: Then click on "Browser" from Metamask wallet.

Step 6: Then click on "Decentralized exchanges".

Step 7: Then select "Uniswap".

Step 8: Now you can trade on Uniswap.

I know there are many here who know much more than I do. If there is any mistake in this guide, please correct it. My purpose in writing this guide is just for those who can't trade on Uniswap yet.
