The readme file with 3.1.1 should tell you what command line option you should use to setup the USB miners as serial devices.

Or you could get the latest CGMiner and use the Zadig utility to install WinUSB and set it as the default driver for your miners and use CGMiner, 4.9 now, without any command line options and have it just work.

I would do the latter.

Thanks for the reply!
I am currently using an AntMiner U2 ASIC, what mining software would you suggest I use?
Sam.

I would use the latest version of CGMiner which is 4.9.  I doubt that old version will recognize it.

I extremely value your help, I wouldn't know what to do otherwise.  Smiley

guiminer predates any ASIC device so dosnt support them at all
id recommend cgminer

1. download cgminer (latest version) and zadig from http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer
2. open zadig tool and find your device (if it dosnt show up click option then list all devices
3. select your device from the list and click install drivers

4. extract cgminer to where ever you want (most people its desktop)
5. open cgminer folder and locate cgminer-nogpu.exe
6. right click and create a short cut
7. right click the new shortcut
8. in the box that says "target" scroll to the end of the line and press space (make sure nothings highlighted you want to add to the line not erase it)
9. enter your pool info like so "-o pool:port -u username.workername -p password
10 click ok
11. double click the short cut and everything should start to work

I'm having the same issue, after following these steps it still won't work.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance,
Sam.

[UPDATE] In case it helps at all, this is what my CGMiner displays:

The latest version of GUIMiner is nearly a year old, and even that was a bodge job to get stratum working properly. That's an eternity in Bitcoin terms.  It's pointless old crap now, really.

ok would u tell me how to make cgminer or bfgminer SEE my eruptor?
i assumed if GUIminer doesnt see it, they wont see it either.

so how do i make cgminer see that extra eruptor?

GUIminer doesn't "see" any ASIC's.

If you want to use CGminer you will need to install theWinUSB driver.  The ASIC Readme explains how to do this.

If you want to use the VPC Serial drivers then you need to use BFG Miner or CGMiner 3.1.1.

Follow this guide. You may need to open device manager and completely uninstall all drivers related to the USB ASIC. When you right click>uninstall these devices you should get a box with a radio button "also delete driver files" Make sure that is checked, or it will just reinstall itself.

Not all miners use the same drivers for the USB ASICS. Stay with BFGMiner. Enjoy the fun of windows driver hell, hopefully you aren't stuck there long.

use bfgminer or cgminer instead, they really aren't difficult to setup and are just as easy to use once they are setup.

ive installed USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers
then put in my USB eruptor
it installed driver and Bitminer sees it right away, ready to mine.

yet i wanted to mine some other crypto currencies so wanted to use GUIminer - yet guiminer stil lsees just my CPU + my own Cayman card, ASIC miner is not recognized.

wwhat should i do to be able to mine other stuff than bitminter?

im on windows 7.
