I am quite bullish on MUNT, the entire supply is only worth 88 bitcoin and the inflation is only 25 coins per block every 2.5 minutes, this dropped from 160 per block in the last 2 years. This is the same block times as litecoin and litecoin has 12.5 coins per block. Munt has far better blockchain innovation compared litecoin and litecoin has a $5.2 billion marketcap.

The main problem for this coin is accessibility for the average person trying to invest in crypto. Why is it difficult for blockhut to plug into the exchange API like many other services to buy coins directly off the exchanges?

I respect Malcolm and Rijk because they keep Munt - Gulden going with all the bad bear markets. A lot of coins I invested in the devs and founders have run off, no matter how bad the price is this team keeps going and gives users more trust.

We lost Roels and Patrick skills or they could of helped with blockhut to buy coins direct off bittrex but maybe one day we get more people with those skills. They weren't part of the Gulden team but made a nice service called Nocks. This was the glory days of Gulden.

Gulden is in a bear mark since 2017. The last time a bull run was starting along with the other alts the 2nd dev reward announcement was made the community and traders dumped.

The price is so low that anything under 20000 coins it will be easier to delete your wallet and forget about the 12 word keys to your wallet. 20000 Munt is worth 90 rolls of toilet paper in the Netherlands.

This is one of the best moves this team has made and I have been critical in the past because outside of the outstanding development the coin fails miserably in creating awareness. At 10x from these fiat prices the coin is still stupidly undervalued but limited easy buying options that influence exchange rates and volumes is a obstacle Rijk and this community must overcome. The blockhut service does not influence the price of the coin and no other coin swapping services like changelly is available.

I like the idea of a Gulden NFT on the MUNT blockchain.

Can MUNT be added to bitcoinmeester? I used to buy Gulden on this site.

Important note:

Gulden has been rebranded to Munt, The Gulden name will be used as NFT (to be released early next year) on the Munt blockchain.

I will be updating the OP with the Munt links as they become available.

Started mining this coin last month and it's user friendly, have also encouraged others to give it a go.

One question about witnessing,  can you remove the Gulden if you need to get access to it?

Hi DeFriesland,

You not able to withdraw your Gulden once it has been locked into a witness account, if you unsure you can reduce the duration you witness for. Just bear in mind that your weighting is determined on your duration and amount you witness with.
Think of a witness account as a fixed deposit account in a bank where you earn interest for locking your funds away for a period of time.

EG.
A witness account with 50 000 coins for 3 years will earn you more rewards then 50 000 coins for 1 year.

The minimum time you can have a witness account is 3 months and the maximum is 3 years.

Hi Bram,

Good question and a question you are more than welcome to ask on the Gulden slack #GAB channel as you will get feedback from the wider community and the GAB representatives can also comment.

Will also try explain the current situation:

Due to the implementation needing to be required on blockhut their was no need for the GAB to be involved unless funding was needed directly from the community. Currently the development reward is not covering the costs associated with Gulden. Please refer to the following link
https://centure.com/maintaining-gulden/

15000 Euros per month requires a price of slightly more than 1.3 Euro cents and when the block reward halves in 3 years it will be 2.6 Euro cents + inflation

Our costs -- What is not mentioned on the site is Gulden has 2 additional contract developers. 4 in total at this stage.

Two full-time blockchain developers for applications Web development and graphic design
Servers and hosting
Security
Development
accounts for applications
Software and font licenses required for development and graphics
Communication software
Administration
Legal

Back to your question:

Portion of the bitvavo funding has been used to hire an additional developer. The community had mixed reactions to this as Gulden also needs the funding for additional exchanges and / or payment processor services. While I would love to have the btc (+other crypto options) payments available
through the wallets straight away this is the current reality.

A sustained price of 2 Euro cents is required, the higher the price the more can be done.

I also encourage people to look up average blockchain developer salaries to get an idea of the costing when it comes to development.

I liked this ability to pay at bitcoin merchants, what if the community decided to use some of the bitvavo funding to pay the developer to have it added?

Posted in the Gulden slack earlier:

From Waterloodown:

Morning all, I have some news on a personal note and also had a chat to Rijk about implementing a great feature we once had in the wallets. First on a personal note, I have managed to arrange dedicated time to Gulden again like
I did between the years 2014 and 2018. Gulden has a special place for me and I certainly want to do my part to see it succeed.

Regarding the chat with Rijk and since it's more a blockhut development, it's not something the GAB needs to be directly involved with.

I will first explain the feature for new users to Gulden.

In the past we were able to use our Gulden wallets to pay at bitcoin merchants. It gave Gulden usability and it meant every time a online retailer or commercial store added bitcoin as a payment option
it increased our available payment options. It also gives Gulden international appeal, in South Africa Malcolm and I used the feature a few times to purchase goods, coffee etc. At the end of the month I would rebuy
the Gulden I spent.

Near me I have a coffee shop called caloroso ( https://www.caloroso.co.za/ ) which accepts bitcoin, the owner was super impressed when I made payments with Gulden and the speed at which the transactions were actioned.
It became a talking point and made it really easy to get some locals to buy Gulden because their was some usability and not only an investment.

Why was this feature removed?

When Nocks became an exchange they were no longer able to support this feature which was unfortunate but we in a position where we can bring it back.

Requirements for blockhut.

Gulden will need a sustained price of around 2 cents for 4 months and the feature will be implemented in the mobile and desktop wallets within 2 month thereafter. A 6 month process because development, infrastructure, homepage etc costs
still need to be taken care of and then paying a developer to implement this for Gulden. Malcolm has the core code used previously which will require some changes and we have a developer that can sort out the API
for the wallets.

Rijk has made this commitment to me if the value of Gulden can be sustained and I think it's a great reward to look forward too, Once bitoin is working, other usable cryptos can be implemented.

No one expects the price of 2 cents overnight and please don't feel pressured into buying Gulden due to the above as I still believe in slow and steady growth that can be maintained.

I would like to hear from others what they think about the above and if it's a feature they would use.

NFTs on the Gulden blockchain

Gulden goes back to the essence of the NFT, which will make it easy to understand for everyone and especially easy to use. Both creating and trading. We are going to apply this in a way that is unique, but at the same time incredibly logical. The power lies in its simplicity. In addition, this development was chosen because it has a very large marketing component. Of course, we’ve been working on the technology for years and now it’s time for marketing. With this project we hit both. Not even so much because of the “NFT hype”, but because the promotion component is already automatically included. Of course, that will become a lot clearer once we announce more about this application.

Things are looking quite lively as of this moment if you'd ask me. Numbers are showing either in price, interactions in social as well as in slack activity from the community.
It's a relief that we've surpassed the required monthly funds to support a permanent development and who knows, a couple of months down the road to finally have access to DNB License so that we can take full advantage of an inhouse exchange, EUR pairings, and so forth.

As for now, it's exciting that we're seeing an extra effort in marketing, constant clubhouse events for Gulden. Robby from Slack is also redesigning his work truck to filled with Gulden branding explaining it. A Gulden-Lite simpler version of the wallet was released a couple of weeks back.

A partnership with BTC-Direct was also formed so that users can finally and once again purchase Guldens directly from the Mobile and Lite wallets. Selling will also be possible within the app in roughly two weeks' time from what I've read in Slack.

I use the Gulden desktop app (v2.3.0.4) on MacOS 11.1 in which I keep my Guldens on a Restored wallet (from a passphrase). I can send and receive Guldens from and to that account without issue.

I also have some Guldens on a paper wallet which I'm trying to add to my main account balance.
I found a way to import it (Tools > Import Key > Private Key) and it show's up as an Imported Key account including the balance. But I can't seem to send the balance to my main account.

When I give the order to send the full balance to my main account, it gives a warning that the transaction fee will be subtracted from the amount. When I press Okay, nothing changes and every time I press send, this message pops up.
When I subtract a small amount myself and press Send, a warning shows stating this type of account only support emptying the entire balance in one go. It seems I'm stuck.

How do I send the balance from this paper wallet (private key) to my main account (or to any address for that matter)?

Thanks for any support.

The development of Electron for Gulden can now be viewed at Github. Electron was first developed for Novo and is now being converted to a Gulden version. Now that the code is available, it means that everyone can help with the Electron interface. People with experience with Electron will not need an explanation, but for people with some web background it is also interesting. It looks very similar (think css, etc.). Take a look, the frontend section can be found here: https://github.com/Gulden/gulden-official/tree/2.3_development/src/frontend/electron_vue/src.

You guys are lucky to have a active developer in this marketcap range, I invested in a coin called Bitcoin Vault and the developer scammed the investors of all their coins, this same developer has started a new coin called BSK. What is strange is BTSV after discovered a scam is almost 3 times the marketcap of this coin.

Is there a problem with this coin I don't know about before I invest?

Bittrex is doing wallet maintenance for Gulden. Stex is available https://app.stex.com/en/trade/pair/BTC/NLG/1D for anyone wanting to buy or sell.

you should contact coinmarketcap to add stex in the list of gulden market mate

I've read that it's automated, you need 48h of constant 1000$ volumes in order to automatically kick in and be added to the CMC.

Oh by the way, can I mine with this coin with different computer using my one account? or is it required to create another one per device? let me know please. Thanks again.

You can also just have a seperate wallet and use the button or rpc  to set the payout address.
Or
You can copy your wallet.dat file to any desktop you want to mine with, if you want the rewards to go into the same mining address.

Please remember to also save your 12 word passphrase in a safe place

I tried to mine for almost 48hrs, but I have nothing to get or solve a block, I think it's very late to an ' i ' series processor to mine this coin that was started since 2014. Maybe a latest Ryzen will do a good spot but it's very expensive.

Hey John,

What speeds are you getting?

Then compare it to the hash rate and divide the hash rate by 576 (Ave blocks per day) and see where you match up.

https://dactual.com/miningstatus.php

Current Hash rate is 1876 mh/s, in theory you should average 1 block per day if you have a combined 3.2mh/s at the current network hash.

Also make sure your clock time is in sync with the world clock as it could cause delays and you end up with more orphaned blocks.

I know you can have the same payout address in multiple devices, as far as the same account i'm not entirely but I would guess so! Someone will surely give you a definitive answer Smiley

You should also research about Gulden Witnessing (staking), it's an awesome way to passively capitalise on your Guldens even while you mine.

When will the project be listed on major exchanges and exchanged?

Gulden is listed on bittrex and can be purchased and sold through litebit.

https://global.bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-NLG

https://www.litebit.eu/en/buy/gulden

Since bittrex is asking KYC for all levels of traders, this may hinder some of your followers to trade your coin in that exchange. But I saw that you are also trading in yobit, but some users are not comfortable using that exchange. So hopefully, we will see this coin to a more user friendly and reputable exchange, no KYC (if you are trading below 2-3 btc/day).

Which exchanges these days don't require KYC for all levels of traders?

Yobit haven't updated their Gulden wallet the last 4 years. So, all Gulden there are stucked in the Yobit wallet. Yobit refuses to do something about it but also don't want to delist Gulden after several times asking for that.
No withdraws are possible. Don't use Yobit is my advise.

When will the project be listed on major exchanges and exchanged?

Gulden is listed on bittrex and can be purchased and sold through litebit.

Very old project. But what are the major accomplishments so far? A lot are aiming to be the next payment gateway, but how many merchants so far has accepted gulden to be included in their payment system? Is the guldenmap updated? Does it mean that all those merchants in your guldenmap are accepting your coin?

We are happy with the development progress for Gulden as per the OP.

May this year we had a bit of set back with a payment processor called Nocks that unfortunately had to close it's doors https://twitter.com/nocksapp?lang=en as they were bought out by another company. Quite a few merchants that didn't accept Gulden directly used Nocks as a intermediary between Gulden payments. Some of the community members will be able to shed more light on which stores still accept Gulden as it was mainly community driven.

The Gulden advisory board have also acknowledged the importance of getting a replacement for Nocks and so https://blockhut.com/ was born. Work still needs to be done on this new exchange medium but it will become a big step forward for payments in the future. This includes a Decentralized exchange as per the last Gulden Advisory Board meeting.

Full English minutes below and I have bolded the parts you and others might find interesting.

ENGLISH MEETING NOTES SEPTEMBER 7TH 2020
Present: Rijk, Robby, Onno, Annemiek, Nick, Paul, Jaap.
Absent: Matthias, Marc, Bart.

On september 7th 2020 the GAB had an online meeting together with Rijk Plasman. Here you can find a summary of the meeting and the most important subjects during this meeting.

Latest updates from the past few days.
Rijk: We needed to fix an error in the miningrewards (these were to high). This has been fixed with update 2.2.0.12. We didn’t have any noticable errors but it was a slight inconvenience. The blockreward adjustment (through an hardfork) became active sooner than anticipated. A lot of witness devices (mainly the raspberry PI’s) didn’t have the 2.2.0.12 update installed yet. This caused the chain to halt for a longer time than we wanted. For future updates in hard-forks Gulden and the GAB plan to release the software sooner and give users more time to update to the latest version. We also try to communicate this better.

Gulden does have a checkpointserver, a server wich controles the network. This was needed in several transitionphases when introducing PoW2 and witness. This server can be shut-down to decentralize Gulden even more. The GAB votes in front of this action.

The GAB’s opinion is that we need a system where the PI’s can upgrade without any action needed from G-Dash (Bastijn). For now we won’t give it any priority in the near future; but it’s something on our back-log to maintain the decentralization of Gulden.

Electron wallet. Concerning the Electron wallet it looks very promising but nevertheless a lot of work is still in progress, mainly in the connection between front-end and back-end. The implementation will be done for NOVO first. Here al the early stage bugs will be solved. When this is ready it can be easily implemented for Gulden as well.

Progress DEX – At this moment the development team is working on Electron. After that development on the DEX will be started.

New exchange listing for Gulden. The plan is to add an additional exchange listing for Gulden this year. (apart from the Dex)

Questions to the GAB/Gulden from the Gulden Community.

What is Gulden’s big vision?
Gulden is a decentralized project and therefore has no vision of its own. The vision about Gulden is different for everyone and therefore personal. Rijk was asked what his vision is, which is as follows: Gulden is naturally on its way to becoming an (inter)national currency. You cannot force that, because this depends on various uncontrollable factors, the most important of which is the price. Gulden is currently not being used as a payment method. Even if the tools were now here for it, far too few people would actually pay with it. Having tools is more of a marketing gimmick at the moment, so desirable, as it can help with adoption. Only when there are very many users it does become interesting for companies to accept Gulden as a payment method. This situation can only arise naturally, because it is a decentralized project. Part of that natural way is the coming / going of community members, where there is always a strong support group. That is already the case, but I expect that it will grow, due to the decentralized nature of Gulden, where you can have your own vision.

When will it be possible again to transfer Euro’s on my IBAN Bank-account directly from the Gulden wallet?
As soon as any broker supports this we’ll have it implemented again.

Now Nocks is gone, can Gulden develop a plugin for checkout pages on webshops?
Rijk: This is something we’re working on through Blockhut

About Gulden

Gulden was founded in April 2014 based on the Litecoin codebase. In 2015 the Litecoin codebase is abandoned and Gulden switched to the Bitcoin codebase. After years of development it can be said that Gulden now has its own codebase.
Gulden started with a 10% premine that was spent entirely on development. The current developments are now paid by part of the mining reward.
The direction of the developments are determined by the Gulden advisory board (GAB). The GAB consists of 9 members and is elected each year from the members of the community.
Anyone can stand for election. Voting for candidates is recorded and done through the Gulden blockchain.
Gulden would like to become a generally accepted means of payment. To this end, the development is aimed at making the wallets as user-friendly as possible.

What makes Gulden unique:

- PoW2 (Proof of work + Witness)
- SegSig (Segregated Signature)
- SIGMA (Semi Iterated Global Memory Argon)
- Linking (Control your mobile wallet from your desktop wallet)
- Wallet accounts
- Unity (Unified codebase)
- Delta (Difficulty Algorithm)
- Sonic (Fast Sync)

Features of Gulden explained:

PoW2

Gulden does not use a standard PoW consensus model, but the in-house developed PoW2 model. This is a combination of PoW and Witness. Miners control the transactions and the Witness controls the miners.
Anyone can become a witness by locking an amount of Gulden in a Witness account in the desktop wallet for a certain amount of time.
Depending on the weighting of the witness account (chosen duration and amount in the account) the witness earns rewards.
The advantage of this system is that the Gulden blockchain can withstand 51% attacks without relying heavily on energy-guzzling PoW miners or vulnerable standard PoS systems.
Transactions can be safely accepted after one confirmation instead of the standard 3-6 confirmations.

SIGMA

Since October 17, 2019, the Gulden team has implemented the Sigma algorithm and since then it is possible to mine Gulden solo without additional equipment.
The algorithm is asic resistant and can be done on a normal desktop computer using it’s CPU. One can simply use this CPU mining algorithm by creating a mining account in the desktop wallet and start mining Gulden.

SegSig - Segregated Signature - Detailed article still to be published but was implemented with PoW2.

Advantages of Segregated Signature
1. 58% space saving on all transactions. More then twice the bitcoin SegWit implementation.
2. 58% increased transaction throughput. No block size or frequency changes needed.
3. Overhaul to the transaction script system which allowed us to implement PoW² and SegSig as clean as possible along with other benefits.

Linking

The desktop wallets can contain multiple accounts and mobile wallets can be linked to a single account in the desktop.
For more info: How to Link

Sonic

Developed to decrease the initial sync time of the Gulden core wallets by up to 60% depending on the underlying hardware.
