natural immunity.

Jet Cash, I'm still interested in your thoughts on this post.

There are quite a few points that arise from your post. The meningitis vaccine is not  placebo, and it has side effects and effects on the immune system. No research has been done to see how it degrades the immune system, and makes the victim more vulnerable to other viruses. It is obvious that being infected with meningitis and Covid will place more demands on the immune system. Of course this will skew the results in favour of the Covid vaccine.

The other important point is that the vaccine is not in competition with other vaccines, but with natural immunity. In my opinion, the fact that an initial half dose is more effective than a full dose indicates that the vaccine weakens the immune system, but a normal healthy one can cope with this given time.Further evidence of this is that lengthening the gap between successive vaccinations is more effective. This can be explained by the natural immunity having more time to recover from the first attack, and thus being able to cope with a second attack. Always remember that a healthy person only needs one exposure to the virus to build "T" cell immunity.

These comments are based on my own thoughts, and are not based on distorted scientific surveys.

the absence of an unvaccinated control group for vaccine testing. Obviously testing the Covid vaccine against the meningitis vaccine is not a relevant test in my opinion.

Is this the Oxford/AstraZeneca one? I understand the objection, but there is a reason they're using the meningitis vaccine. This is a key part of ensuring that the trial is blind, i.e. ensuring that participants don't know whether they've received the actual vaccine or a placebo. If the CV19 vaccine causes a bit of soreness/redness around the injection site, plus other mild symptoms... then ideally you want your placebo to trigger the same apparent effects (whilst obviously still being ineffective against CV19). Whereas if people know or strongly suspect they've been given a placebo, then this obviously impacts the results.

Another issue if participants can determine whether or not they've received a placebo is highlighted in this example from a US trial. The participant had no reaction at the injection site, so believes she received the placebo. She now wants the real vaccine because, as she rightly states, she put herself at risk in participating in the first place... but the likelihood is that she won't be allowed it, because they don't want to unblind the trial, and they don't want to prevent themselves from identifying any long-term effects. It's a bit of an ethical dilemma, as people given a placebo after volunteering for the trial now find themselves at the very back of the queue for the actual vaccine.

I picked this up from an Alex Bellfield video, and he usually posts some thought promoting comments, and I can often verify them, or they agree with my own research. In this case, I fell for the Oxford connection, and I didn't check. It looks as if he is going for volume rather than accuracy at the moment. I've just tried to watch a video he posted, and it appears to have been deleted. It commented on the apparent shutting down of some charity lights by the police.Obviously there is more to that story than just the simple statement.

It seems that there is a lot of fake  sensationalist news being created at the moment. This seems to be driven by a desire to gain advertising revenue, or to obscure the true facts, and to make them appear to be fake. I guess I should stick to my own thoughts. My current one questions the absence of an unvaccinated control group for vaccine testing. Obviously testing the Covid vaccine against the meningitis vaccine is not a relevant test in my opinion.

Gullible to be removed from the OED

Well, you gotta remove it from somewhere if you want to move it onto the people.

it looks as if I may have misunderstood the situation

I disagree with most things you post, but I appreciate it whenever someone admits they made a mistake!
I agreed with you once. So I'll admit to at least one mistake.

when a sleeping snowflake tries to say something. but doesnt realise that while trying to pretend not to be gullible. actually falls for a satire story done to test who is gullible..

oh jetcash. you fell down your own hole
maybe your slip up should be used as a prompt that maybe its time you wake up

99% of the posts you spout out are complete nonsense stories and are obviously just repeats of other nonsense websites you read.
this makes you a prime example of gullible.

please take this example of you moment to actually wake up and stop being so easily lead by stories you read.

next time if you are unsure. actually try to research beyond the site you just read. actually try to learn the content and context. and research the sources.

then if the story resonates some truth. not your 'truth'. but the real world truth. then try making a topic/post about it.

but if its just a latest story clickbait headline from one of your favourite crap sites.. dont even bother posting about it, or people will see you as just gullible. or my alternative word. idiot. which is not so micro aggressive and more macro aggressive. because most times it needs to be made obvious to you when you are being an idiot

Ok. it looks as if I may have misunderstood the situation, and for reference here are the new and modified words in the full 20 volume OED
https://public.oed.com/updates/new-words-list-september-2020/

I think the misunderstanding stems from the changes made to online dictionaries, and often words are removed because of low usage and online storage restrictions. Aerodrome and charabanc would seem to be two of these. I can't find a reference to gullible though. Sorry if I mislead you guys, but it certainly is the sort of thing that is likely to happen in our current woke/BAME controlled world.

The woke snowflakes continue with their stupidity. The word "gullible" is to be removed from the Oxford English Dictionary because the editors deem that it is offensive...

Next you'll be trying to convince us that Gullible Travels.

At the risk of ruining the joke if you're actually trolling and not merely stupid (it's getting harder to tell these days), I'd like you to check whether the word "satire" appears in the latest edition of the OED.

Just a shitty joke that has been repeated on the internet time and time again to show people that they're being 'gullible' for thinking that they would remove the word 'gullible' from the dictionary.

If it was anyone else writing this then it'd be easier to say that they were joking, but you're totally right when it's said that it's hard to tell. Here is the first page of Google results on the matter:

The woke snowflakes continue with their stupidity. The word "gullible" is to be removed from the Oxford English Dictionary because the editors deem that it is offensive to gullible people. I wonder when they will remove "fool" to protect themselves. They are also removing "Essex girls" as they feel that is offensive as well, and I expect "black" will disappear at their next meeting.  They expect that gullible will fall into disuse because of their action, but I suspect it is more likely that people will stop using the OED as a reference. Now that it is incomplete I won;'t be using it, and I will continue to use the word "gullible".

We are starting to see some reactions against the BAME and woke cultures and influence. and I hope that we can get back to some traditional normality before racism returns with a vengeance as a result of the current stupidity.
