Sounds more like an inconsistent enforcement of inconsistent rules. They probably have a guy they pay to clean up the ads and they are applying the rules as they see it. Anyhow, they technically can't prevent the sale of mining equipment because it does have other uses - not that SHA256 encryption cracking is a high demand market outside the NSA.  Roll Eyes

Well , they can prevent the sale of mining equipment on their website by doing something like above.
I don't consider video cards mining equipments any more , since we talk about bitcoin. And asics are asics , you can't do anything else with them.

Their response to my appeal.

As Bitcoins are digital goods they are not permitted on the site nor or devices used to mine the prohibited item.
Yes we can read, but apparently you can't. People posted questions and you answer by copying your previous sentence.

Plenty of Bitcoin related ads up on Gumtree right now so I don't think they are blocking in general.

Let the widespread panic begin from those who fear the unknown.  Huh

My ads were pulled.

What ads?
Any response from them ?
That is if you actually asked them why they did that!

What were you advertising exactly? Gumtree is owned by eBay so they may be taking a similar view to currency exchange ads...

Isn't Gumtree just Australia's version of Craigslist? Why would they care? What were you trying to sell? Sex for Bitcoins maybe.
