According to sources in Reddit, in the attack a few hours ago, about 35 million XVG was likely stolen - about $ 1.7 million at current Coinmarketcap prices. Verge just underwent the same attack last month with 250,000 stolen XVG.

Verge was hit similarly last month and lost more than $ 1 million
Verge does not seem to turn up. Hackers once again exploited the flaws in Verge's blockchain to steal the XVG.

According to ocminer, a user of Bitcointalk.org, who pointed to the previous attack - said there was a similar incident, exploited again by attackers.

Attackers may have exploited multiple blocks by 1s using the same algorithm (scrypt). The recent hacking mechanism Verge has been released, roughly similar to this one. See more here.

Ocminer (bitcointalk.org) has shared the following screenshot to indicate the vulnerability:

As a consequence of the recent attack, Reddit account R_Sholes said the vulnerability was not fixed even after Verge was hard-fork to prevent hacking.

Verge is not currently speaking about the hack, and only reports on twitter that there is a distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on some of the XVG mines and is attempting to resolve it.

Private-directioned e-mails are generally more secure, but the company's twitter account was hacked in March. Prior to this, there were reports that Verge had a vulnerability that disclosed the user's IP address, which could never be correctly identified.

However, loopholes in security did not deter Verge's business. The company announced a partnership with Pornhub last month, after asking users to pay $ 3 million to disclose the relationship with this potential partner.
