Well, First of all, I don't need a loan. I work full time and am a Bitcoin enthusiast. I also run www.rainingbitcoin.com website. I do not mine, and have no desire to begin mining. I also have very little knowledge of mining gear and if I did, I would never try to scam folks out of their coin. I buy my coin through the exchanges like any reasonable person should. Also, the kid said he was 13; I am 33. I am employed and work hard for what I have.

I think that it's great that some other teenagers are trying to get into Bitcoin. However, getting into Bitcoin with a loan is a very bad idea. Actually, you probably won't get a loan at ALL if you don't have collateral (and you said "no" when asked).

Think about it like this: Would you hand $1000 to a random person off the street? Why would people on here do that?

Also, it is possible to get a job at 13... You can always help people out with computer stuff in your town... I get paid $20 for about 15 minutes doing that.

(I'm 14, by the way)

Yes huge, but not 3TB Cheesy

and 2-3TB for backups is useless, because he would have only 64+128GB of data, so he can make 20 backups on one disk and when disk will fail he will loose all backups.
That dedicated server seems pretty good idea for him.

If you are serious about trying to build a business here, then rent a server. for example this one:

So you save some cash too ($89 < $100). You dont "own" the hardware in the end but you also dont risk $1000 when your business fails. With your age and no possibility to pay your debts I highly advise you to rent a server!!! (not to mention those other valid points that have been mentioned before (internet connection, no clue about servers ...))

1. Think about the hardware properly. Not just some random stuff.
2. Don't expect anyone to give you the loan.
3. You did not mention anything about your internetconnection. Most people trying to start with hosting games underestimate this but you usually need lots and lots of uplink with a fast connection (so high throughput and low latency) but you did not mention anything at all about that.

Poor kid is living a pipe dream. I HIGHLY suggest not loaning this kid anything as I have seen BTC loans to children fail in the past. Nothing against this kid, but even me at 24yrs old I would have a hard time convincing someone to hand me $1000 and that's with a job.
