What if that "nanashi" was in fact Mark in person or someone who was trying to protect him?
Afterall the so-called "nanashi" told us he would release a torrent file with 20GB of data from gox, this never happened...

However strangely he released :
- a meeting between Mark and Mizuho bank in which the bank told him that they would close his account, is that a demonstration of good faith from Mark? And why would he put that file on his own server?
- a leaked php file showing mt. gox code, and then surprisingly some days after hundreds of thousands of coins are moved and people are using the leaked code to confirm that it uses the splitting function of mt. gox

Seems like it is quite well organized and I guess that Mark is behind that or an insider who wants to protect him.

Also hint : nanashi means "anonymous" in japanese

How is that protecting him?

I heard this from a trusted person on IRC:  Apparently someone posed as a potential buyer for the 20GB data.  Instead of getting anything in response from the supposed blackmail thief, they began receiving phishing e-mail claiming to be from Bitcoin companies with trojaned payloads in attachments.

I am sure the hacker would of got a lot more than personal data. It is probably an ex-employee who was smart enough to save to a flash drive Wink

How naïve do you have to be to send your personal info to some shady basement-run operation overseas.

Blaming the hacker is always the easiest thing to do...

Is there a leak with some actual ID scans in it?

That would be quite worrisome  if they really have this

so your evidence of a hack is a media story
so the media's evidence of a hack is a presumed irc log of someone saying gox was hacked
that someone's evidence that gox got hacked is a voice recording. that he could not translate
the comments of the recording mention the hack and link a pastebin
the pastebin links 2 pastebins that are just random stuff and a third that is supposedly from a gox staff member, but the bin has been removed.

so when did chinese whispers that are upto 6 layers deep of misrepresentations and opnions used instead of facts... become valid sources...

sorry but a source of a source of a source of a source, is not a source.. its beyond hearsay, its useless
