Update:

On the Qitmeer Telegram group, I shared a screenshot of the details of the Waves-based Halal Coin, wihich contains the ID address of the token, and the ID address of the creator.

A main admin of the Qitmeer Telegram group told me categorically:
"Hello, this Halal coin is not the same as HalalChain (HLC) And we never make anything of such."

So now we know.

It's not the news I wanted to hear, but it clears up the matter, and explains why the Waves-based Halal Coin is not transferable to the ERC-20 Ethereum chain.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me.

Going forward, I think it would be nice to have a thread specifically for the Waves-based Halal Coin, so we can chat.  There might not be many of us, but I think it would be good to share.

Bitcoin_arena mentioned the Telegram group earlier  "Try asking some questions in their chat group and see if they can help you - https://t.me/HalalChainGroup "

Let me know if you have any luck... I'm sure they're the same coin, and the folks at the Telegram group seem to think so too.

At least, the coins seem to be valued the same as Halal Chain on the other exchanges.  I'm finding it impossible to get any help or support from the Waves Exchange itself, they keep telling me the same thing over and over "Unfortunately we don't have any contact info of the token issuers, cause as I said above, Waves.Exchange is based on decentralized solutions and mechanics, so anyone can easily create a token and run a project using Waves blockchain network. So, we just can't be aware of all Waves-based projects and their development milestones. "

Anyway, good luck, and please let us know if you have any success or answers.  Mainly, is the Halal Coin (HLC) on Waves, the same one as Halal Chain (HLC) on the other exchanges.

Cheers!

[ EDIT: P.S. There's an old Halal Coin thread here, that I recently rediscovered... https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/halal-halal-coin-for-15-billion-muslims-no-ico-no-premine-no-mining-2024242  ]

[ EDIT: P.P.S. This article states the old Waves Dex (where I would have first purchased Halal Coin, shut down as a decentralised exchange, and became a hybrid crypto exchange in Dec 2019:  https://cointelegraph.com/news/waves-dex-shuts-down-and-relaunches-as-hybrid-cryptocurrency-exchange   ]

Because of this thread, I remembered to have a HALAL before. Try logging in and check that my Halal balance is worth so big but trading is not that active.

I would say, good luck as I think the project is no longer active.

Mind sharing with me their Telegram group official?

Update:  I've chatted with the Telegram group, and they suggest downloading the Kahf wallet, and then forwarding the Halal Coin token to it, and to prepare for an upcoming 'mapping' in 3 to 4 months time.

I see the Kahf wallet is available on the Apple store, but I'm an Android user and it's only available via a direct download (not on the Play store).

Update 2: I'm stuck with the same problem as before.... the Kahf wallet uses the same Ethereum based system, and I can only send HLC from my wallet at Waves Exchange using a Waves address!!

I need some sort of 'bridge' that allows me to send the HLC via a Waves address, and then *somehow* transfer that onto the Ethereum network...

The person on the Telegram mentioned that a mapping (from HLC to Meer) is coming in 3 to 4 months....  but surely I'll need the HLC to be in the Kahf wallet in order for this to take place...  This is so frustrating!!

Thank you Bitcoin_Arena, that makes so much sense.
I was away from Waves so for a couple of years and it all must have passed me by.
I'll try their Telegram Group.

Looks like you missed out on the swapping party from waves platform to ERC20
according to their former website (https://www.hlc.com) which is no longer online. There was an option to carry out a swap in it sometime back in 2018

The deadline must have ended as they have now completely rebranded.
They now use this as their official website - https://www.qitmeer.io

Try asking some questions in their chat group and see if they can help you - https://t.me/HalalChainGroup

Hi there JackG

Thanks for replying so fast!

Here's a link to Halal Coin on Waves: https://waves.exchange/trading/spot/HALAL_ETH (there are other trading pairs, but all have 0% market - hence my trying other platforms such as CoinEgg)

1) I did wonder whether they were two different coins.  However, Cryptoclearbear on the HalalChain sub-Reddit answered my question [I'm 'Far_Shift1324' on Reddit] as to whether Halal Coin is the same as the Halal Chain. Question thread is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/halalchain/comments/kuh22k/this_reddit_is_for_sale/
but Cryptoclearbear  has not yet replied to my follow-up question.  I don't know whether Cryptoclearbear is a dev of HLC.

2) The original developer's Twitter https://twitter.com/HALAL_Coin appears to be inactive.  However, I checked out the 'dead coins' section of https://www.coinopsy.com/dead-coins/ and at https://99bitcoins.com/deadcoins/# and there's no mention of HLC or Halal, which leads me to think the Halal 'token' on Waves was 'migrated' to become Halal Chain... in my absence.

[ EDIT: You gave me the idea in contacting the dev.   I have attempted contact by sending 1 Halal Coin coin to their Waves address, including a short message asking them about it.  I will let you know if they respond. ]

Thanks again.

I can't even find the token on the waves exchange could you provide a link to it directly? (I have the app).

If you can't withdraw to the other chain there's a chance:
1. It's a completely different coin
2. They use both algorithms or there was a chain move that one of you didn't notice (can you find an official website of the coin's devs and ask them)?

Hi there, I hope you can help.

Around 2017, I purchased some Halal Coin (HLC) tokens via the https://waves.exchange/sign-in/.  These tokens, as far I can ascertain, were converted to become 'Halal Chain' Coins (still using the 'HLC' ticker).

I have tried to trade the token on the Waves marketplace, but the market is too small at the moment.  Doing some research, I found three exchanges that trade HLC (Probit.kr , zb.com , and CoinEgg.com ).

However, the issue I'm having is that the Token on Waves.exchange can only be sent to another Waves address.

All three exchanges I have tried have deposit addresses that, as far as I know, use the Ethereum blockchain.

Customer services on Waves, and on the other exchanges, all tell me they cannot assist me.

Please help!!
