Hal knew that there was issues with is health and he likely organized that a close friend or his family would have access to his Bitcoin. That is the only reasonable explanation for this. Private keys can not be cracked and I doubt Hal used an online wallet or got compromised after all these years.

I looked up the address expecting to find thousands of Bitcoins in it, but it only has 10. https://blockchain.info/address/1Q2TWHE3GMdB6BZKafqwxXtWAWgFt5Jvm3

I don't think anyone can or should answer that question. Bitcoin users usually like their privacy so I don't think it is fair to talk about other people's business in this space.

Hal's address which was used to receive the first bitcoins from the genesis block has been used to sent bitcoin as latest as last year.
1Q2TWHE3GMdB6BZKafqwxXtWAWgFt5Jvm3, which Hal Finney has said was an address of his, was last used to send coins in September 2017. Recently his bitcointalk account was also accessed by someone. Is the address compromised or its his family using it?
