Danemark is a good team and deserves to win!

They crushed their opponents during the competition.
+8 vs. France in the Semis, +9 in the final vs. Norway.  Shocked
Like I said, it's been a while since a team has dominated an international tournament this way.
Very very impressed by the Danes, their offense and Mikkel Hansen in particular.

I think in the next games, the following teams will win : Spain, Sweden, France, Danemark.
As expected those teams won relatively easily with 5 points difference at least except France vs Germany 26-25.
Danemark is a good team and deserves to win!

Final will be against Norway which upset Germany in the other game.

Norway is playing very watchable attacking handball but I don't see how they can seriously threaten Denmark, let alone win tomorrow's final. I was hoping for at least 1.6 odds for tomorrow but it seems that 1.4 will be the best we can get.

I watched parts of Croatia - Sweden game today and it was mediocre performance as expected from both parties at the game which doesen't have any competitive meaning and is coming at the end of a long and hard tournament. They should have just awarded the fifth place by overall points or something.

Edit: I actually manged to get 1.5 odds in Denmark so taking that and hoping for easy money.

Denmark will win this tournament
This is my prediction

I just watched the semi between Denmark and France in replay and it was painful lol.
What a disillusion it was. The Danes dominated easily from beginning to the end.
Hansen scored 12 goals and made many assists.
Offensively, Denmark played a perfect game.
I don't recall a team dominating an international competition the way the Danes are doing it right now.

Final will be against Norway which upset Germany in the other game.

I can't wait for the semis. What is important is that both games will be in Germany whereas the final will be in Denmark.
So Germany are clear favorites against Norway even though their team isn't the most talented. With the crowd behind them they should go through.

The other game between Denmark and France will be one to watch for sure. I believe the winner of this one will be the clear favorite in the Final.
I'll be honest, Denmark are favorites but not by much... but the French team is very unpredictable. Very young and very talented ! France is doing what it's been doing successfully for a while now, mixing young players with more experienced ones. If they win this one, I will be very impressed.
Also Denmark may be more focused on the final than actually on this game, already seeing themselves champions in front of their fans. This could be an advantage for France.

5 goals from Richardson... but 0 from Karabatic (sorry !).
We lost the game 20-23.

Doesn't matter he would have been the only correct one. I had 6 choices on the ticket and managed to get wrong all 4 that have finished till now. So good thing it was for bear money and not high stakes.

We needed this win in order to qualify for Olimpic games or whatever. I know we have to be in top 7. That was our main goal.

 N. Karabatić to score under 3 goals @ 1,7

Not sure about that one. Karabatic is gonna play much more minutes than in the last two games in order to get him back in shape and reintroduce him into the team's system.

I was thinking he would be preserved for more important matches since he is coming back from tough injury and he was always your main player. As such he should be already well integrated in the team.

I confess I haven't watched a single game from France this Championship so I will heed your advice and skip this one. My prediction was based on statistic and some press articles. What was his injury? Something that could easily happen again or something which doesen't have high risk of repeating if he plays?

Edit: What about these guys, do you think some of them will be preserved for semi finals?
Abalo L(-2,5+)-Fra-Hrv
Fabregas L.(-2,5+)-Fra-Hrv
Guigou M(-3,5+)-Fra-Hrv
Mahe K.(-3,5+)-Fra-Hrv
Mem D.(-3,5+)-Fra-Hrv
Remili N.(-2,5+)-Fra-Hrv

Karabatic got surgery last october for what you could call an inflammation on his left foot (I don't know how to call it in English). He was supposed to be out for 4 to 6 months. But he's been treated and he's ok.

Dinart, the French coach has said in an interview that he wants to keep the team's dynamics and not make any calculations... but I don't buy it. We'll probably play Denmark in the semis anyway (good thing it will be in Germany and not in Denmark).
I'd say he'll let some of the guys you mentioned rest a bit. Mem should play a bit instead of Remili but expect Richardson to play even more than these two. Mahe will take the penalty shots and play more than Guigou who will rest. So will Fabregas. Abalo will probably play a bit, he's not our best RW anyway.
Some of the guys who could play more are Karabatic and Richardson (a young and very talented player who could bring a lot to the team if he's given confidence by the coach). These are the two players I expect to have a big game from.

The thing is we have a very talented team with players very close from each other's level. So it will all depend on each one's form for the day.

I was looking forward to France - Croatia game as another Handball classic which will decide which team will progress to semi finals. Unfortunately after our horrific presentation against Brazil and bad luck coupled with bad attacking play vs. Germany this game has lost much of it's importance.
I will watch it but is isn't the same.

Any good tips for today? This championship is going awful for my predictions so it would be better to skip betting but I will have to play something at least for bear money Grin

Probably Denmark to win @ 1.7. If this game was more important I would play it even for high stakes. This way it will be part of the low stakes combo. N. Karabatić to score under 3 goals @ 1,7 and Duvnjak or Karačić to score 4 or more @ 1.8

I’ve lost my bet for sure :-) now only I can do is, as always, is support Cro loudly!

I have to admit that strange things happen in handball, game Germany-Croatia was really a strange match just because hosts of this competition are Germany and Denmark. In such important game handball referees are from Denmark and they push Germany towards the semifinals...It surprises me that the referees were not from Germany, so things would be even more evident.

Personnally, I'd bet on Croatia now and wait for the odds to reverse and make it a surebet.
Hmmm...already too late, or not.

There will be no chance for surebet :-)
Cro can win this is all in their heads, arms and legs.

18-18 there it is.

Holy shit, Brazil beat Croatia by 3 !!!! Anyone bet on that lol ?
This changes everything.

It is always like this with Croatia. We started the competition humbly with realistic sentiments in media, how this team is good but nowhere near good enough for medals. Our goal was only qualification for next big tournament (first 7 teams will make this.). Than we started better than expected and immediately the media picked up with hype. After that we always get a really bad match. Only good thing is that we are still in the tournament but now we need wins against Germany and France.

The performance against Brazil was simply terrible. they did to us what we did to Macedonia in first phase... Lot's of technical errors which resulted with many easy goals on empty net.

You guys are always a bit slow at the beginning of the tournament and then you start hitting higher gears as the games became more important. I have a feeling you always win small matches but often with very close score. You just play as much as you need to secure the maximum points.

I agree with you... and that's why I actually worry a bit. Right now we're cruising to the Semis without any problem. That's not like us at all !
Oh, right now we're 7 goals ahead of Iceland lol. Too easy, way too easy... I don't like it.

Nikola Karabatic will give France a big boost as well. I see them going past Spain today, maybe with a 2-3 goals difference.
I'm watching the game right now. Everything's going well, we're up by 2 at halftime (it should have been more, last 3 minutes were bad for us).
Who needs Karabatic when N'Guessan is playing like that ? Seriously, the guy's finally playing up to his potential. Him and Redili are the team's offense leaders in these championships. Fabregas is also having a great game.

Also, LW Mickael Guigou is the most underrated player ever. He's 35, looks like nothing but I don't think there are many players in the world with more technique than him.

the G2 is easier than G1

My prediction for the semi-finals at this point:

Croatia - France - Denmark - Norway

Good luck to all teams, can't wait Saturday  Cool

Oh yeah look to the G1! Hard games incoming  Wink
Your prediction seems to be very logic however we may expect a surprise in the G1 from Germany or Spain maybe?

Hope that will be no surprises here

France beat Russia by one goal yesterday. The game counted for nothing as France was already qualified and knew its next round opponents already.
Karabatic had a quiet game.

These will be the main round groups (and their actual standings based on first round games)

G1
1 Croatia 2 W
2 Germany 1W 1D
3 France 1W 1D
4 Spain 1W 1L
5 Iceland 2L
6 Brazil 2L

G2 (looks like a much easier group)
1 Denmark 2W
2 Sweden 2W
3 Norway 1W 1L
4 Hungary 1D 1L
5 Egypt 1D 1L
6 Tunisia 2L

The first two of each group will go the semis.

Oh, just found this thread. Sad that my country again didn't qualified to World Championship, we were so close again...
I'm not a big fan of handball, maybe because it's not popular in my country, but I'm trying to follow this Championship. For me France and Croatia looks most powerful, but there are many dangerous teams. I'm not a big expert in this game, so it's difficult to predict. And it's strange to see South and North Korea playing under one flag Cheesy

just to make a quick on those two:
Denmark - Norway -- Denmark wins ~@1,60 With all the respect to the Norwegian team, but Denmark is 20% better in this world cup

Norway was excellent in this tournament, but Denmark has home advantage so I hope it will be enough.

I will probably take Macedonia - Island over goals. Macedonia is playing with 7 players in attack so I am expecting a lot of goals on both sides. Thoughts?

A surprise here
Macedonia won the first half
I think that Island could win the second
Good game, very difficult to predict, so, good that were no pairs for me to play on this match

Tough game for France yesterday against Germany, it ended up in a hard-fought draw.
I actually expected us to lose this one so it's not such a bad result.

And what a goal from France to take that point. You don't see that very often.

Lot's of games today and few very important ones.
Croatia - Spain
Macedonia - Island
Denmark - Norway
C'mon big_daddy give us some nice tips.

Well, today is the last chance to grab more points to transfer them in the second round of the Handball tournament
My eyes are concentrated on those who must play their match of the year to accumulate as more as points they can

Germany - Serbia
The last game of Germany against France was absolutely fantastic, and today I'm seeing here a run for 2 points for Germany, but on the other side, Serbia, if they loose, the tournament is over
The only chance to go to the second round for Serbia is to win today, but Russia & Brasil should loose, their matches will analyze later, separately
I thing that Germany will win this match, but the odds on that are negligible, so my pick for this pair is total goals scored - over - margin 50.5 ~@1,50

Croatia - Spain
Two giants in Handball, this is the match of the day, find the stream and enjoy the game
My hearth is telling me Croatia will win this match, but my head knows that Spain has a extremely fast and furious team and I'm playing total goals scored - over - margin 51.5 ~@1,60
Both teams has great attack, but also great defense, Spain has better defense
Today they are running for 2 more points to transfer, so I see an open full offensive game here

The competition started yesterday and I am just browsing trough today's offer to choose some bets. I couldn't find the topic here on the forum so decided to make one in case there is some interested parties here.

I think i will choose Croatia to win and Macedonia to win.

Croatia has a lot of problems but they can pull together in important matches. Island also has some problems among their outside positions so I except a tight defense from Croatia to give them comfortable win. We will see. I didn't watch any preparation matches so this will be for small stakes.

Macedonia should have an easy job against Japan. They are just much stronger physically and Japan will have big problems to jump over their defense or defend against Kiro Lazarov.

Thank you for sharing this with us and I think it is a bet worth taking.  I seriously believe that Macedonia may have the day and I will like you to show were you are placing this bet.  Macedonia are very strong and tall and that put them on advantages.

I played Handball professionally at the end of my teenagehood, and I don't even know Handball has a World Championship.
Wow, I am shocked how you did not know that, because you were professional player.

This game is might not be interested to watch, but it is very intense when you are involved in the game. So many vital decision making and required skill.
In my opinion, handball is more fun to watch than football.

By the way, does anyone know a cryptocurrency based gambling site to bet on this Handball Worldcup.
You can bet on Sportsbet.io and Nitrogensports.eu.

For those who don’t know what handball is -> https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handball

If this sport is under the radar in your region, even better, we can suggest here some good picks
There are Handball markets on crypto betting sites

So,

For today there will be smart to bet on Germany-Brasil total scored goals - over (margin over 51,5 up to over 53,5)

ok, my prediction WON

margin odds was from 1,60 up to 2,30 ,, depending on betting house and margine of over goals

I'll see for tomorrow to have a good prediction too Wink

In my experience the bookies usually mess up in the beginning of big handball tournaments when it comes to the handicaps and total goals scored. So it is a good idea to bet on those during the first round. Not much money to be made betting on favourites to win as the odds are in the 1.01-1.10 region, sometimes it is not even possible to bet on a favourite to win Grin

Handball?
Jesus, have we dropped to new lows on btctalk.org?

Only joking but the reason there’s not much interest here is becsuse it’s not a very popular sport. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a televised game & I watch a lot of sport.

Maybe it needs more exposure.

I guess Handball is very geographically divided sport. Meaning while there is no interest in USA and very little interest in Great Britain and Australia I believe it is quite popular in Germany, Spain, France, all Nordic countries and all countries in region near to Croatia (didn't want to write Balkan or former Yugoslavia).

It started to get some traction in Africa and Asia but all the best national teams are from Europe. A good proof of that is that European championship is more competitive then world cup.

Try and watch the game in the later stages of this world cup. There is a lot of "weaker" teams in this first groups so you won't get the real picture of the sport but it will get more and more interesting as the competition progress.

French, bah you are my arch nemesis then. I am Croatian  Grin We had some epic matches lately. World cup final and Davis cup final. I will not talk about our handball rivalry because French won most of the important matches.

You can take tennis, we'll take handball.  Grin

I played Handball professionally at the end of my teenagehood, and I don't even know Handball has a World Championship. This game is might not be interested to watch, but it is very intense when you are involved in the game. So many vital decision making and required skill. By the way, does anyone know a cryptocurrency based gambling site to bet on this Handball Worldcup.

Honestly, this is my first time to hear Handball. I searched it on Google and found out that this game is like a soccer but the difference is you're throwing the ball into the goal instead of kicking it, now I know Smiley. After I sesrched, I suddenly recall that I've already watch a clip of this game where the man did an insane move while doing a penalty throw (like a penalty kick in football). This game was not too complicated compare to basketball, however, it amazes me every time the players make acrobat moves while throwing and make the cool trajectory of the ball.

Anyway, Denmark and Macedonia are very strong teams (if we will based on the goals they made on today's match) so I guess they will be my pick.

Oooh Handball is being talked here on BCT ? Unexpected but very cool !
Expect the French team to win another title (I'm French  Grin) even without their star player Nikola Karabatic.
Big fan of them... but very disappointed lately because they just had a ceremony with our President Emmanuel Macron, a real piece of s...

EDIT : they just beat Brazil 24-22, not as easy as some would have expected.

You guys are always a bit slow at the beginning of the tournament and then you start hitting higher gears as the games became more important. I have a feeling you always win small matches but often with very close score. You just play as much as you need to secure the maximum points.

Great day at the bookies for me. I won both my tickets. On the low stake one i even added handicap against French guys and Kiro Lazarov to score 7 or more goals. Everything passed nicely. Would really love to see some predictions form other parts of the world. Especially regarding some African teams. I feel there is great value in handball handicaps but unfortunately don't have the time and will to properly scout "weaker" teams.
