Hey sorry but without proof and without a chain of title proving where it came from you can't add "first bitcoin painting ever" to the price.  Historical value comes from documentation.
How can I prove that I am really the first?

You probably can't unless you bought it around when bitcoin first came out and have documentation of that purchase.  If you made it yourself and you made it recently it's not really that valuable.  It's not a bad painting but just randomly doing something and claiming your the first one to do it isn't anything special.

The painting itself isn't that intricate either.  It's a single color with the bitcoin symbol on it.  It's cute but not really worth $100+.

No, that title is reserved to the act of bidding below a former bid.

Even in my own auctions, I always crack up when people do that, or people bid 0.01 when the starting bid is 1 bitcoin.

how can you prove your claim that some other person has already painted a Bitcoin symbol already?
It is impossible to prove... I just cannot find similar painting in any public place (Google, Bitcointalk, Bitmit).

No it doesn't have any value.
Move on.
Absolutely none? How much are you ready to pay for it?

No offence, but it looks a bit shoddy quick and simple, all lines are crooked. Painted only for the 'first bitcoin painting ever' gimmick and expecting it to be worth something without putting effort in it.
I am not a professional painter and this item is the first in my life, so don't blame for the quality  Wink

Anyways, your are right, I believe that my painting can have some value as it is the first painting ever devoted to the Bitcoin.

Auction extended to April 20, UTC 20:00.

BTW, starting price is more than two times cheaper due to recent Bitcoin exchange rate plunge!

Taking it at face value your sales pitch is that this is the first painting of a Bitcoin symbol. Going off that you also stated "As I know" which is just another way of saying that you think it is. With Bitcoins being around as long as they have how can you prove your claim that some other person has already painted a Bitcoin symbol already?

Especially when it is obviously a plagiarized version of the seven legged spider.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I give to you the first painting of a Bitcoin, created on a laptop touchpad, for the sole purpose of sale.

Because you may dispute it as the second-ever painting solely for Bitcoin, and because of advances in efficiency, we are able to offer this painting at 0.5BTC. That's not an auction. Just a flat, half-Bitcoin, to give this masterpiece to the world. Unwatermarked painting (in the same resolution) will be send via link in a PM, or dedicated into the public domain and posted here on the forum.

Humbly,
Teran

I do realize giantdragon's painting is much better. More artistic. Physical and tangible. I wish by no means to hijack his thread. But perhaps my painting, made with the humble and open source GIMP, will win over your heart.

I could stencil the exact picture you have done for a fraction of the price
But your painting will not be the first painting ever devoted to the Bitcoin!

It looks all wobly and stuff. I'd pay BTC0.5 but only if it came with a frame that emulated the coin shape.
The value for this painting comes from its status as the first painting ever made, devoted to the Bitcoin. I think it's potential worth is much more than 1 BTC.
I can include a simple frame for free.

The value of the painting comes from what people are happy to pay, I could stencil the exact picture you have done for a fraction of the price I dont think it's worth much more than 1 BTC, if that at all... £100 on a canvas sheet is a hell of a lot
