No idea as I've only done horizontal, but I appreciate the test you're running! Certainly interested in the results. Do you have anyway to record ambient temps to control for that?

Sure do, I could also factor in the outside temp I suppose, but hopefully the temp difference is obvious enough to not worry about that, we'll see!

The rig on the 3rd row on the left is running around 61*C average (red devils get hot), which is high for my setup... most are 55*C or less, so I'm going to test this on that rig first.

Personally I hang my cards horizontally on a rack (https://i.redd.it/kl8ixkuks0uy.jpg), however I've seen quite a few setups (saw this one today https://i.imgur.com/SNgjEUm.jpg) where the cards are hung vertically.

For non-reference cards, is there any cooling benefit or is it simply to look cleaner and save space since it's easier to tie the front plate? I'm going to test it out today on one of my rigs and compare temp averages across 24hr, I'll let y'all know how it goes.
