And it's crushing again today. The longest round all day was just barely over two hours (and far, far in the lead at that), and the shortest was 31 seconds. (Though I got zero reward on that one... didn't submit any shares in time, I guess.) As of this posting there are 40 blocks awaiting confirmation.
Super with happy with a pool. Slush's has been just crushing today. Every time I check my stats we've got 2-3 more blocks. Is good

If you don't already have some serious hardware and don't plan to buy it to mine with, a pool is the only way you are ever likely to get paid.
I don't think that's exactly true. The main benefit of the pool is that it smooths out the returns by handing out small but frequent and predictable sums, but over a long enough period of time, the overall returns should be very similar to what you'd get as a lonesome miner.
If you're a gambler, stay outside of a pool initially and see if you get lucky and score a 50 BTC block early on.
Afterward, you're probably better off pooling either way.
Back on topic: slush's pool works. http://mining.bitcoin.cz/ . That is all.

I've gotten 30+ BTC since I started mining with Slush's pool, and counting!
New user. 5850. <3 slushpool. 3.99 BTC confirmed so far, and I found my first block today.
edit... Btw Slush, I like the new additions. It's cool being able to see how much reward I received from prior blocks. When the donation feature goes live, will it track that as well? It would be cool to keep a running total of how much has been donated. Keep up the good work!

I get like 5 bitcoins per 8 hours on my 5870 at ~300MHashes/sec.

The only problem I have now is the clients crash at random....so I wrote a batch/bash script to start the process in a loop, so that when the app dies, it just restarts back up.
What miner? What crashes? Do you have some traceback/error message?

Unhandled exception is the error.
I do not have a trackback/error message as of late because of the script I wrote to catch it.
I just restarted the process *without* using my script....so I'll post here the next time it crashes.

I can confirm I've been paid about 8 separate times from Slush's pool.
Slush's pool is AWESOME but my [nVidia] miners keep crashing 
+1 on slush's Pool.
I have been paid out twice now, first one was probably done manually, second time was only just the other day right after it crossed the threshold.
Network connection is quite stable and now testing the 230Mhashes/s GPU in the pool
5 BTC on its way as a donation.
