Each and every cryptocurrency is backed up by an algorithm, the algorithm requirements vary. For example, ethhash algorithm depends more on memory clock than core clock while on the other hand, equihash requires both - core and memory.

Moreover, you cannot calculate how many hashes you're going to get, but you can definitely run a benchmark on your hardware to know the hashrate for different algorithms and mine the most profitable. One such example of that kind of software is nicehash.

Hello, I want to know how to calculate the hashes by second that a hardware is able to mine, I mean for example, my CPU mine ~10h/s criptonote, but x13 at ~16Kh/s.
Can someone explain what is the considered to define the capability?
