There must be a way for your to ship it to EU. I doubt your are interested, just saying if you wanted to.

I didn't say there was no way, just that the option from Amazon is not supported. Ordering from the official site is possible but besides the price of the device I need to include VAT, custom, and delivery expenses which certainly exceeds the price of $150. I think it's still better to buy a new Ledger X or Trezor for that money, for the reason that these are reliable companies, delivery is free (in case of Ledger), and I get a device in just a few days from France.

Price of this wallet is $109, but we should add customs/vat additional costs since the delivery comes from South Korea, and in my case (EU) delivery from Amazon is not supported.
I wasn't aware of this. Deliveries to my country (also in Europe but not part of the EU) doesn't include VAT as long as the price is below €150, actually the equivalent of that in my local currency. There must be a way for your to ship it to EU. I doubt your are interested, just saying if you wanted to.

What makes it better than the competition?

Maybe the reason is that arcade01game is in some way connected with this wallet, and by his posting history one can conclude that this is exactly the case. But since he quote OP, we can suspect that this is also his alt (bump) account.

Price of this wallet is $109, but we should add customs/vat additional costs since the delivery comes from South Korea, and in my case (EU) delivery from Amazon is not supported. That fingerprint reader does not give me too much confidence, especially if it cannot be used in combination with PIN. When you sleep someone close to you can just use your finger and unlock wallet, and this is not a very negligible vector of attack.

I would recommend D'CENT wallet as one of the best wallets out in the market!
What makes it better than the competition?
It is a biometric wallet which I would never want to use.
It doesn't seem to be open source and the website doesn't have a link to their GitHub repository. Their twitter was created in January 2019 and has a very small following, they are a new company.

Anyone has any more info on them?

Krislaw, it makes no sense to look for old wallets, if you want your coins to be safe then you need to adapt to new technology and maybe invest some money in that. Ledger Nano S is good option for that, or maybe you more like Trezor - it is up to you and your financial capabilities. Both hardware wallets support more then 1000 coins / tokens, and they offer pretty good security.

You know where i can buy ledger Nano/Hw.1 ?
Those old ledger only for bitcoin wallet. I didn't fund on https://www.ledger.com/
You can find quite a few of these on Amazon and Ebay but I wouldn't purchase a hardware wallet from any third party. The risk of having your bitcoin stolen due to a backdoor or malware rises if the origin of the product is not from the official store or re-seller.

HW.1 was discontinued, so may be able to buy only from resellers (which I would not advise).
If you want it only for Bitcoin and maybe a very few altcoins, the cheapest option you have from Ledger official website is the Nano S.

You left out the coldcard

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/coldcard-hardware-wallet-5033058

It's one of the better ones out there. Even has a micro SD slot so you can sign a transaction and bring it to your PC to broadcast.

coinfunda, we have a board for Hardware wallets, so use move button and send this thread there.

I would point out a couple of wrong conclusions, even hardware wallets are a pretty safe way to keep crypto (at least for the time being), they are safe only if they are used in the correct manner. So when you say that HW are free from spams , viruses, phishing attacks - this is not 100% true. We have recently fake Ledger Live which try to trick users to enter seed in it, and we have fake Trezor sites + fake phone numbers support.

Seed should not be entered anywhere except in hardware wallet, and every users should check sending / receiving address before sending to avoid clipboard malware which change users coin address.

Since article is from February you have no review for Ledger Nano X, and some prices should be corrected.

hardware wallet is very necessary now, I use nano ledger to secure my assets after I was hit by a hacker attack. so I think this can be used as a way for many people to use wallet hardware in securing their crypto assets
