So my question is what is the best solution to protect my erc20 using a metamask? or using a hardware wallet ? Or any other option
For asset storage, it seems that storing in a Hardware Wallet (Trezor) is the recommendation to choose.

I think nothing to safe in internet, all is have own risk that's is depends by how we use it, already follow the rules to use it? What the risk? And how to minimize the risk and etc.
For example :

Using a hardware wallet if you don't know the correct use is also risky, such as using an online crypto wallet provided by the developer with storage on a cloud server.
Using Wallet Software is also risky if not used properly.
By doing some basic things to maintain security by keeping backups away from your internet connection, it's not too bad to do.

I stand with Palestine.
First of all this thread should be moved Altcoin Discussion or in the Beginners and help section.

And you are right that we have seen many cases of hacking in using keystore for backup. And you recommended metamask wallet so it is good to use and you should write your seed phrase at safe place but stll your funds are online so there is possiblity of hack.

So the second option is much better then the first. If you have a big amount of funds so you should buy a hardware wallet which is a extra layer of security. So with this your funds will be safe and you can move them after connecting with internet. And this is also recommend for those who are holder and hold the funds for long time.

This discussion belongs to beginners and help section, hardware or wallet software boards respectively, another thing to have in consideration is about you mentioning the use of ledger hardware wallet, this may not be a good taste for privacy sake, we cannot be solving a problem and also be creating another unaware, other hardware wallets are fine and perfect for use, but not when you made the mentioned of ledger anymore.

To b honest I don't have much idea about this.
but base on my little research I did.
Because of this post.
There are lot of good, ERC20 wallet like.
Best wallet, etoro, metamask, MEW, Trezor etc.
But on the other hand trezo ERC20 wallet is known as the safest for storing ERC20 tokens.
Because its offer cold wallet,
meaning the ERC20 tokens are never exposed to the internet. Trezor allows users to add custom tokens, meaning all ERC20-assets are supported.
But the truth still remains nothing is fully safe, if u don't take Care of your ERC20 wallet with  cautious no matter how  safe it is. you might end up putting it in risk.
And also thanks for the post, because I've also learnt something new today Arigato...😁

Payment Gateway Allows Recurring Payments
I heard that many peoples are complained that their myether wallet has been hacked.they used directoly keystore file or private key to log to MEW. These ways are not a recommend ways i saw two good recommend options to log MEW
1Using metamasak wallet
2 Using a hardware wallet like trezor or nano ledger

  • Just don't log in to a very suspicious website.
  • Bookmark those web wallets that you are using so that you will redirected to the right and legit website.
  • Don't publish your private keys on the web, email, social media accounts and notepad on your computer. Why notepad is also included? Once your PC is infected, hackers can penetrate to your files.
  • Write your private keys in a piece of paper.

I think nothing to safe in internet, all is have own risk that's is depends by how we use it, already follow the rules to use it? What the risk? And how to minimize the risk and etc.
For example :
• Using harware wallet to keep your ERC20 Tokens, indeed this wallet designed to make your assets safer, easy to use, the ability to make payments quickly, high security, and more. But if we can't learn more how to use that, how to keep it and what we need to more safe (that's like use trusted antivirus), maybe your wallet will be attacked by virus.
• Using Online Wallet like MEW wallet, I'm token and etc that's safe too for your assets, easy to use, fast payment and etc, but you should know how to use it to be safe, seem like keep your private key and keystore it just should you know don't tell anyone,  ingore the fishing, enable 2FA, Google authenticator and etc so thats will be safe. Thank you
