Well good luck with the project! When the time comes we'll be happy to list your book, always room for more sci-fi :o)

Yes, that's exactly how it works. When listing your entries you price your work in USD, BTC price conversion occurs at checkout.

That's great, that was the big thing I was worried about.  I'll plan on using your site when I end up self-publishing my book.  I figure I'll probably sell it on your site and on Amazon.com, with it being discounted on your site to encourage Bitcoin purchases.

As far as E.exchanger's question - I am writing it in the science fiction genre.  Thanks for the good luck in wishing it to be a huge success, that is greatly appreciated.

Late reply here as I haven't been watching the forums as much as I used to.  Here's my biggest question / concern: given the huge volatility of bitcoin, if I use your site, I'd prefer to have the price of my books pegged to the US Dollar so that someone paying the equivalent of $10 (for example) one day wouldn't be paying $100 for the same product a month later.  Do you have any automatic ways of doing that?

Pretty low to be honest, for now the focus is on getting authors and content to populate the site. That said, sales tick along for the more popular authors.

Thank you very much for taking the time to explain. I'm working on something, maybe soon I can add to your site.

Sounds good! Good luck with the project and let me know if and when I can be of help!

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. I'm the owner/manager Shocked)

2 things I noticed in a few minutes on your site, by the way it looks good.

1. there is not sci-fi (at least I didn't see it)
2. the price looks wierd like 9.920000 something like that, in my opinion should look something like 9.92 round to decimal points.

How is the split with the author is it similar how Kindle does it? Thanks.

1. Sci-fi is in the main menu but won't show in the contextual menu until an author lists a sci-fi book. This saves you seeing a bunch of empty categories.
2. The trailing zeroes issue is due to having to switch back to USD as the base price. If you switch to BTC mode (converter in the footer section) you'll see friendlier BTC prices. I'm working on removing the trailing zeroes and a fix should be in by the end of the week.
3. Split is 90% author, 10% bitbooks.co

Thanks for the reply. How about sales you don't have to disclose numbers but are there any at all or growing? Thanks.

*bump*  Anyone have any experience with them?  Or know anyone who does?  I'm really curious to learn more about them.

Am in the process of writing a book and was thinking of selling it there in the future.  It's much less well known as far as I know than coindl, but their commission is much lower, so it's attractive to me as an author.  Just wondering what people's experience with the site has been if anyone here has bought / sold any ebooks there before.
