Antivirus is for noobs.

Good luck fighting a virus without knowing which one is it, and what it does. I guess many Linux or Mac users out there Smiley

Yeah, Hitman Pro marks a lot of bitcoin mining related files as potentially suspicious, but doesn't quarantine them. If Avast has the option (haven't used it in a while), report that the files are safe, and in the next month or so it should stop doing that.

Alternatively, just disable the AV until they've fixed that, and regularly move your bitcoins to an address where the private key isn't stored on your PC.

even if if it is easy bypassable (does this word do exist?)
I think that word does exist, but 'easy to bypass' would be better grammatically. Smiley

I have on QT just 0.00002 mBTC so no problem to lose it today.

That is not real at all, AV is useful, even if if it is easy bypassable (does this word do exist?) it better than don't have any.

Apparently that's a really old virus from 1992!

It should be a false positive, I found it too, but can't believe a virus from 1992 can infect my computer ... and even less, run on a mac a win virus...

When your floppy disk drives are disabled on the 29th of the month, you will know for sure.

Grin Grin Grin Cheesy What? Floppy drives Huh  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

At least it wasn't a block you solved and were trying to broadcast to the network asap.

there's something up with correct horse battery staple.  if you put that priv key in your Bitcoin app, it will crash every time.

there's something going on.  quantumll.y.

I get same issue today, you can see the virus total report of one file.

https://www.virustotal.com/es/file/d6cce34e8297c9b8beb4cd424536c6c73fdd92843694b6d7bbc84ae7a4153b44/analysis/1396641987/

I deleted it all, but my Bitcoin-Qt crashes and is downloading the whole chain again. It happened in a Mac, so not sure what's is going on.

Do you know what block triggered it?

So I always have qt running along with avast anti virus. And just a few min ago avast detected infections in 4 files. First, blk00129.dat, most recent block at the time based on date added. It lists virus name as 10 past 3.
The other files isolated are .sst (x2) and .log

Anyone else have this kind of thing happen?

Perhaps a virus signature based on a bitcoin address?
