I tried Puppy Linux once, on an EeePC 2G Surf. It won't install properly. The install process has a text screen which is bigger than the device's display, and you can't reach the options.

I use Puppy Linux, I like it.
Does what I need it to do.
I have three old machines and use various version of Puppy on them, some are very old and Crappy PCs. One version of Puppy, 'Wary' is specifically designed for older machines.
I don't mine at home and don't play games so Puppy does what I need to to.

For Linux, I stick with the big boys (Ubuntu, Mint) because they will have more support. By "support" I mean people talking about various problems in threads on Linux forums, which can be found via Google.

If you go with a fringe or less popular distro, you won't have as much help.

www.distrowatch.com has a list of the most popular distros.

I'm actually kind of surprised to see no mention of it!
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Puppy_Linux

-It's FAST as the whole operating system runs in RAM -very small size too
-Small and minimalistic
-Easily customized and can create a new Live CD of changes
-Can boot off of a CD then take CD out once it's loaded

It's probably the smallest and fastest Linux I've used.
I'd love seeing a "Bitcoin" edition with everyone all ready to go!!!
