I have used WebMoney in past, but it was long time ago. I never had any issues with service itself, but I agree with others that's very inconvenient to use, UI isn't is one of their advantages. From comments here seems that they haven't improved much in all these years.
If you're from country that haven't imposed sanctions against Russia, there shouldn't be any problems for you to use it.

few years ago it was really good but now they require kyc, not so safe, there are online wallets better than that one.

I have been using this service for longer than Bitcoin has existed. Yes, everything is not simple, but for me, this is a fairly secure service. It must be said right away that if you are looking for anonymity, then in this case, this is not your service. The Service contains certificates of trust, based on which you receive limits on the withdrawal of digital money. Similarly, there is a business level that can be explained as a level of trust. The longer you are in the system and the more transactions you make without any complaints, the more confident you can be using this service.

So, I has actually used WebMoney before, and I can totally understand why you're nervous about trying something new. For me, it was a pretty decent experience overall. Yeah, there were some minor issues, like navigating the website and getting used to the interface, but nothing too major.

I think the main thing to keep in mind is to double-check all the transaction details before confirming, just like with any other payment platform.

If you ever run into any issues or have questions, their customer support is pretty responsive, at least in my experience. Just be cautious, as you would with any payment method, and you should be fine.

Hi everyone, I'm having a couple of transactions with a guy, he want to pay me with WebMoney, I've never used it before, it's quite strange for me.
Site is https://www.wmtransfer.com/
If you have any experience with it, please let me know your review, as well as problems that I need to avoid when trading with it. I am quite nervous when I have to use something new, sometimes there will be payment problems like Paypal, it is very disturbing so I need your advice.
Webmoney is a Russian company with a payment gateway solution that is topnotch, its rivalry with Perfectmoney lingered for years after the US government took down the popular Libertyreserve over a decade ago. At some point, you would hardly see a retail broker that doesn't accept Webmoney for deposit and withdrawal. All these happens until cryptocurrency came on board and reduced its popularity.

These expressions are to tell you that Webmoney is not new and was indeed popular. Nonetheless, it's still in use, but you might find it difficult to exchange it for your local currency if it's not popular in your country. Local exchangers are scarce for it these days in most countries.

Alternatively, you may use the service of https://www.bestchange.com to convert it to crypto, but be ready to part ways with a higher fee. Also, if you have a trusted person in Russia, you can send your Webmoney, and such will send you crypto (most reasonable for value).

In any case, if you are from a Russian-friendly country, why not use the Payeer service? It is a good service that has high reliability and supports Russia and other friendly countries.
thanks for your advice, i did not choose Payeer as it is not one of the options my dealer wanted  Cheesy
Dear op, as other members has already mentioned the cons of WebMoney, I would like to add some facts too, such that they have a lesser pay rate like for a dollar. So if you are getting 20$ from your client you have to ask him to send around $4.61 dollars more. If you could mention your region and how you are going to withdraw your money from Web money.
this rate would kill both sides if we tried to trade with it, I thought about trading WMZ through the Currency Exchange section, but no one seems to need it  Roll Eyes
anyway, thanks for your advice, i won't use it any time, too low rate is a big problem.

As i used it for Adsterra to get my payment and to convert the received money into pkr, the exchange rate was too low and i was losing around 40% out of my capital. I hope you got my point so, be careful and calculate your final output after all transactions so you would avoid loss.

WebMoney has been a good service for me for a long time but I don't know anything about it at the moment.

In any case, if you are from a Russian-friendly country, why not use the Payeer service? It is a good service that has high reliability and supports Russia and other friendly countries.

You can send fiat or crypto to any Payeer account, if your friend has a Payeer account then things will be much easier.

You should also post the comments in which people say they never got a single problem, to show the reality.
Because posting 3 links, yes, but there are millions of happy people, since 2 decades...
oh it's okay, he just wanted to remind me that I should avoid possible risks, it is perfectly fine
Forget if you wanted to link your bank account.
actually I am thinking about linking my bank account, the WMZ exchange rate on other platforms is too low, the only way to get the best rate is probably through the bank.

I use WebMoney before to receive payment from paid-to-click sites I don't have any problem but it was a long time ago but right now they do have a bad reputation and heard that their system is totally fraud.
Not good if you trade to someone with crypto they have many bad reviews check this link below
- https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.wmtransfer.com
oh, all the negative reviews regarding crypto, seems like things got worse when they added the crypto exchange feature system  Roll Eyes
But if you still want to accept webmoney the safest way I think is what OmegaStarScream suggested WMZ to BTC and I think bestchange are able to help you to find a good exchange.
not really good, I found that the rate of WMZ against USD is around 1.24/1, which is really bad if I want to convert to money, anyway, thanks for your useful information!  Wink
I'm just looking at possibilities for a pair of WMZ -> Bitcoin on BestChange, https://www.bestchange.com/wmz-to-bitcoin.html There are a couple of offers (maybe the OP can start gathering more information
I can't do anything with such an exchange rate

maybe I will need another payment method other than WMZ, its exchange rate is absolutely low compared to the rest, I will talk to the dealer again. Thank you so much for your comments, you guys are awesome!  Wink

so it would probably be best to try and find a WMZ -> BTC exchange (or individual to deal with) first.

There is also a warning that direct automatic exchange in this direction is prohibited by WebMoney:

Quote
The automatic exchange in this direction is forbidden by the WebMoney payment system. You can exchange WebMoney WMZ to Bitcoin (BTC)  using other currencies.

Webmoney is probably the most popular payment processor in Russia and around URSS (45 million registered accounts according to wikipedia). It's perhaps older than Paypal. Many companies use it such as Skype, casinos,ect...

@ChuckBuck
Webmoney is legit but as mentionned before, with the sanctions against Russia, you should think twice before using it.
Forget if you wanted to link your bank account.

Where are you based? WebMoney is based out of Russia so if you are in a country that is imposing sanctions against them you really cannot use it.
I am currently in a Russia-friendly country and this is definitely not a problem  Cheesy
Much like PayPal if someone is sending to you it is reversible.
it's really worrisome as I'm not sure if the person I'm dealing with is reputable or not
I did use them at some point. The UI/UX was just terrible
totally agree, in terms of user experience, it's probably the worst app I know
it would probably be best to try and find a WMZ -> BTC exchange (or individual to deal with) first.
it's a good idea, thank you very much
It's great that it's available here for reference
If you can avoid it, do it, the decision is yours.
of course, i will consider the possible risks and i am here to learn about it, thank you, the information you give here is very important  Wink

@ChuckBuck I've seen several members on here make accusations and complain about the Webmoney site, as stated by the member below.

* Topic: Webmoney locked my account [Get Scammed]
* Topic: Why WebMoney always blocked my account!!!!!!!!!! Scam?Huh
* Topic: [Question] Skrill vs Webmoney - Which is easier for trading to Bitcoin?

What is clear is that the site is a little dubious to me, I don't know where it came from and I have never used it, my advice is to be careful using it for your own safety and comfort.

If you can avoid it, do it, the decision is yours.

I did use them at some point. The UI/UX was just terrible, but aside from that, I never had any issues with them. Even KYC was not required IIRC (for certain limits).

But now with the sanctions mentioned above, I don't think there are many services that still support them. I know AliExpress stopped doing so (not sure of the reason) so it would probably be best to try and find a WMZ -> BTC exchange (or individual to deal with) first.

Also, even before the sanctions a lot of banks would not let you link your account to them.

Have not heard much about them lately, but I have not been looking either.
