Aside from making big promises, Trump hasn't helped bitcoin (yet). Frankly, I don't think anyone truly knows if he's team Bitcoin or if he's just pretending, long enough to win the election and be done with it. I think Trump discovered early that Bitcoiners might come in very handy for his election campaign fundraising just like the way SBF lobbied politicians during the last elections and splurge most of FTX user funds in the process. I'm just going to wait and see what to Bitcoin happens if Trump does win until then, I won't be paying much attention to his promises or headlines.

On CT, trump is loved but in American Twitter very hated.  Not sure why.
For now, Trump has done nothing yet for bitcoin but let's wait and see if ever he wins, that's the best time we can say if he's really helping bitcoin or he's just using it for his election campaign. Politicians are politicians, they are here to deceived people as much as they can for their own personal interest satisfaction. Although there might be some few genuine left, but majority are like those, and I think Trump is never an exception.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with US politics. It is just a currency that politicians are using for campaigns. Associating Bitcoin with either the Republicans or Democrats is a big blunder. Bitcoin is just one of the areas that Trump is using for Campaign, there are many other sectors. If Trump fails, nobody will blame Bitcoin because he already has many skeletons in his wardrobe. How will Democrats see Bitcoin as a right-wing currency? Bitcoin is a universal currency and has no respect for political ideologies.
The most American thing in the world is the Americans thinking that the whole world cares about their presidential candidates that we invest into crypto depending on what their candidates say or do. Or even more American thing would be them thinking that what happens there impacts the market like crazy.

The actual truth is that even though they may try to crash it, like how Germany did, and USA could with all the coins they seized, the price will not stay like that for a long time. Up or down, it will end up changing eventually so they can only change it for a very short period of time. I believe that we need to see this as clear as it gets, nothing will be too different and we are going to end up with this as the reality.

I think the best way would be just making sure that we deal with whatever we are given at the moment we are given and then it is going to pass. I think the best thing would be just focusing on how to get greater results, will be simpler that way. We might be down now, but we will recover, and Trump had nothing to do with our increase nor our drop, and he will not have anything to do with our recovery as well. America in general has nothing to do with it.

Bitcoin (the cryptocurrency) and Bitcoin community are 2 different thing though. And this forum is just smaller part of Bitcoin community as a whole.

Absolutely right, I believe Bitcoin community in the USA matters most, because the country is leading economy and financial hub of the world. Any positive development in the US is watched world-wide with great interest, specially in the western countries, in short USA is trend setter for rest of the world, and  Bitcoin adoption in the USA sends strong signal to the global community about its legitimacy, which builds confidence of investors to allocate funds into Bitcoin protocols.

For starters, I am a Bitcoin enthusiast with so much adoption in HODLing, Payments and Trading and it has been a blessing to me. Despite that, what I do differently from most Bitcoiners is that I don't deceive myself, I will never be a bigot but face the reality of the situation. Thanks to my grassroots experience in the financial market, unlike those who only started during this crypto-era, the experience is so lacking and popular people can easily trick them. This is partly why Trump could deceive people this much, what a folly! To what end?

Trump will do nothing in the crypto world if he succeeds in becoming the US president, he is only using Bitcoin and others to ascend to the throne. Someone who had condemned Bitcoin many times in the past but suddenly started painting himself as its messiah, don't you think this has some undertone? Why are people so gullible? Many bullish speculations are flying all over the internet to his credit, but talk is cheap and the market is not foolish, we can see the true reflection already.

I like us to see beyond the deception of those who want to use Bitcoin's popularity for their gains and still later abandon it. The future of Bitcoin only lies in the hands of the true adopters, not fake ones. Don't you guys think the true adopters of Bitcoin will lead by example? How many estates, hotels and businesses of Trump are now accepting Bitcoin for payments? Or how many of his liquid assets has he converted to Bitcoin? Talk is cheap, a true Bitcoiner will surely lead by example.
I want to be honest, the first time I heard Trump's news about cryptocurrencies, the first thing I thought was manipulation. A simple manipulation to cover all segments of the population and win the election.

Trump is someone with a personality that views Bitcoin positively and even though he did not realize his promises, I think Trump's influence will still be there on Bitcoin when he wins the election later. We have seen some influential people in the world with just their words can have a big impact, so it is now with Trump, I think what he says will be quite influential.

Indeed, Trump has shown his support by attending a Bitcoin conference and appears to be serious in promoting Bitcoin utility if he is elected as president of USA which is promising for long term growth of Bitcoin. However, I believe that Bitcoin has alread secured its space in US financial system when its ETF was approved back in 2023. What we need now to enhance its wide-spread usage as method payment for goods and services.
If Trump attended a bitcoin conference, that really is a great move and one that is highly commendable, someone like myself have learnt not to trust politicians, due to their lies and deceit, but I am guessing that it's possible that Trump has fallen in love with Bitcoin really, and if this be true, then it's a really bullish signals for the future price of bitcoin because, if Trump eventually wins the election to become the next president of the US, there is the possibility that he may work hard to make sure bitcoin is made a legal tender in the US, and ones this happens, rest assured that all other countries in the world will have no choice but to make bitcoin a legal tender too, and this is when real adoption and utility will come.

There is a record and the media also carried the publication of his attendance and speech at the conference but that been said, his promises for now only created more awareness to the already existing one and most people are only seeing his speech in support of Bitcoin lately as his political strategies to gain the support that he is looking for in the into the White House but no one knows his true intentions if he is elected as the next president of America.

The possibility of Trump winning the election is high right now not because of his recent political comments regarding his adoption of Bitcoin in his country if elected but because most people see him as the most qualified candidate among the contestant, Trump will still need the support of the people in the state house for his plans of adoption of Bitcoin in the country to be possible so I think it will take time if he is elected for Bitcoin to be accepted in America regardless of his position as the president if he gets in.

If we don't vote for Trump, should we vote for the Democrats, for Harris? The one who will almost certainly continue to pursue the draconian policies toward crypto and crypto that Biden left behind?
IMO those who eligible to vote should consider other aspect besides cryptocurrency regulation as well. For example, Trump's Project 2025 also contain draconian policies on many fields.

I know cryptocurrency is not the only factor we rely on to vote for which candidate. We have issues of immigration, climate change, abortion, jobs...many things that need more attention.

But I'm just giving my opinion based on a bitcoin investor's perspective and with what's going on, it's clear that Trump is the one we should vote for over Harris even though he's not either reliable. He's more worthy of our bet than the Democrats because of what Biden is doing to us.

In addition, each person's needs and problems are different, so we will have different choices. We should respect each other's decisions because there is no guarantee that we are smarter than someone else just because we voted for one person and not another. I don't understand why some people like to condemn others just because they voted for Trump when no one complained about them voting for Biden.

I get your point, but i also just giving my own opinion while reminding other people to consider other factor. And it's not that hard to find someone who prefer Biden or Harris on cryptocurrency discussion got criticized.

If we are going to be cynical:

Bitcoin was way over $60K before Trump spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 conference. Now the price has crashed to around $56K.

So no, I think he harmed Bitcoin instead. Cool

Just kidding.

I think both of these political candidates are quite irrelevant to Bitcoin. It's whatever the FBI and the SEC are doing that's going to be making waves in the markets, not whoever is president of the USA.

But influential... how? Trump has the ability to hurt Bitcoin much more than he has the ability to help it. Half of the USA absolutely hates him, and will not buy or support anything associated with Trump. Politicians on the other side may well not be caught dead supporting Bitcoin because Trump supports it.

In every democracy one thing is common "Promise and fail to fulfil", for sure only some ignorant people would believe whatever comes out a politicians campaign management mouth because its not the same approach they used in getting to position that they use when they are there. Trump is not different from any other politician we know what his capable of doing, if he truly loves or appreciates bitcoin genuine we will know which I haven't seen any sign towards that.

My biggest surprise is the way bitcoiners see him as potential positive influence towards bitcoin but I know true bitcoiners wouldn't agree with any thing anyone says about bitcoin until they do something really positive.

I'm really pissed with all the trump shit going on but I know it will all be over soon just few months coming.

I agree with your opinion about politicians and it is understandable to be disappointed as Politicians all over the world sell dreams during their election campaigns and these dreams often go unrealized. Bitcoiners who are placing hope in Trump might be viewing his administration's positive stance on Bitcoin and favourable policies regarding regulations of crypto industry. however, as you said, we need to see some concrete steps rather than statements and promises.

IMHO, there is still no clear proof that Trump has helped bitcoin already. Well, aside from the hype that comes supporting him bitcoin all of a sudden, but we all know hype never lasts. In fact, it's actually Trump who is now benefiting a lot from bitcoin. Either his interest towards bitcoin is genuine or not, but it's obvious that seeing Trump putting some good words for bitcoin, he is already drawing closer to the bitcoin community and all its like, which makes him drawing near to his success with the upcoming election.
As legiteum said above, "Trump is not saying he is pro-Bitcoin" he is just selling Bitcoin in his campaign to attract more supporters. If he really has helped Bitcoin, in what ways has he helped it? What is said in his speech is just empty words or promises that cannot be kept because politicians will do anything to achieve their desired goals.
Currently, Bitcoin is a promising investment medium compared to other types of investment, its users are also increasingly widespread, including in America, his statement will lead to the opinion that he is pro Bitcoin. As long as there is no written agreement between Trump and the Bitcoin community in America, Nothing that comes out of a politician's mouth is certain.

People should remember that Trump is not saying he is pro-Bitcoin because of any number of voters, but rather because of a few dozen donors who have given him millions of dollars.

All Trump is demonstrating is that Bitcoin is becoming like the oil industry and other unpopular industries that think (wrongly, I believe) that they need to pay off politicians in order to prosper.

If I paid Trump enough he would promise to make Bitcoin illegal in the USA and make Haypenny the only legal currency platform here besides the US dollar.

Yeah you could buy him.  But he would likely fuck you over just like he does to most everyone he deals with.

Trump is a politician, and anyone who is listening to his speech and promises about what he will do for bitcoin should have it in mind that politicians primarily objective is for their own personal gain before that of the public will comes in, and aside from him being anti-Bitcoin in the past, what he is fighting for is to retake a public office and not his private organisation, where he will be the sole decision maker.

This is actually what I was thinking because even if Trump has now suddenly become a Bitcoin friendly politician now that he wants to be elected again as the United States President, but we all should be aware that the United States of America is not a one man country where the Presidency will just take decisions without the Parliaments and other arms of government and of which America knows that Bitcoin will make the United States dollars unpopular if it was to be adopted as a strategic reserved asset so I not saying that all what Trump is promising about a Bitcoin friendly environment when he wins the election is a propaganda but we should not be enticed by those promises since it requires a lot of government institutions to carry out any decisions in the United States of America.

To help Bitcoin is not all about adopting it in your business but also spreading the news about Bitcoin to others. It would be more better to adopt it but that will only limit the impact to people that make use of his hotels.

On this ground I strongly believe that the pronouncement of Bitcoin from the mouth of Trump sends a vital information to the entire world and that is one of the things that has helps bitcoin goal more global because his speech didn't matter only to the Americans but to the people listening to him all over the the world, even though Americans are yet to adopt Bitcoin right now there may be a possibility of them adopting it when Trump is elected if he is willing to do so because lovers of bitcoin over there would definitely remind him of his promises during his campaign.

Globally Bitcoin is spreading and some people are already waiting for Trump to be elected to acquire Bitcoin since he won't kick against Bitcoin lovers in his country, supporting him and since he is better among the other candidate won't be a bad idea since he is the only person that has announced Bitcoin publicly showing his support and increasing the awareness in the advertisement of Bitcoin adoption.

American has not adopted Bitcoin for it to be made a publicly accepted currency in the country for former president Donald Trump to accept them in all his hostels. He is also too famous to take such bold steps because it might hurt him more than making him more profit because of his political ambitions but when he become the president and he does that, nobody can hurt him. President Trump just speaking good about Bitcoin has helped spread the news about Bitcoin to millions of his fans and world population that is following the US presidential election. Those people do not help bitcoin but there is no denying that they can impact bitcoin in many different ways. Bitcoin is affected by their statements and actions, we need to accept that fact. Bitcoin is decentralized but that does not mean it is immune to all types of news or influence from influential organizations and individuals in the world because it is also a part of the world economy.

I agree with you they don't actually help bitcoin, and I noticed something they use their influence to somtimes manipulate the market to their own interest and even politicians sometimes they feel they can use bitcoin to also get the attention of people I know politicians very well. They always choose their self first, and because of their influence by making some comments, the fact is already accepted because their is nothing anyone can do about it, one of bitcoin weakness is news once their any negative news the next thing the market will be affected every were will be red.

Bitcoin supply and demand are determined by humans. Meanwhile, people are influenced and manipulated by that news, so it can be said that fundamental news has an impact on the development of bitcoin.
We always want bitcoin to not be influenced or manipulated by anyone, but the truth is that it is impossible because no one can exist independently of this world, including bitcoin.

The fact that it is decentralized does not mean people are still not behind manipulation of the market, it a two face thing it's either you make money or not, every market conditions have what people benefits from it, and not given no matter the condition of the market will also be what will determine wether you will make money, because a lot of people give up easily especially when they see the market, and they are losing money and it is taking time for the market to recover, before you know it they lose interest easily, that patience is one thing a lot of people don't longer have. Their is no way people won't Manipuri the market for sure people will do it.

Satoshi ran of with 1 mill BTC. Now wonder he is in the shadows.

Are you one of those who think that he will spend them one day? I wonder why he has been waiting for it for 15 years Roll Eyes
It's also worth to mention that ~1 million BTC is enough to make Satoshi enter top individual rich list[1].
[1] https://news.bitcoin.com/satoshi-nakamotos-growing-fortune-nears-entry-into-worlds-top-25-richest-individuals/

It would worry me if Satoshi was someone like CW Faketoshi, Mr.Mars or someone like them - but the person behind that name has never shown the slightest intention of making any financial profit from his invention. We can be thankful that Satoshi "removed" about 1 million BTC from the market for the reason that he simply had to mine to run the whole thing.

Bitcoin has survived much worse things than Democrats and Republicans, hacking of Mt.Gox, banning of trading and mining in China, pandemic and all its consequences, CW Faketoshi and all other fakes. It is completely irrelevant what will happen in the next presidential elections in the US, whoever wins, BTC will not have better treatment than it has now.

The guy @legiteum is a supporter of the democratic party, what he said was for the sole purpose of making people stop voting for Trump and support Harris.
It's funny how he tries to link bitcoin to Trump and the republican party, and claims that the democrats will hate bitcoin if Trump loses  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy. He forgot that the Biden administration has also been hostile to cryptocurrencies throughout his presidency.

Personally, I would not be surprised if Harris is elected and continues her hostile policy towards cryptocurrencies, which has been the nature and policy of the Democratic Party towards the cryptocurrency bitcoin for many years now.

Well if his intention is to divert the attention of possible Trump voter to go with Harris then I think he will not succeed on that since many people are now rooting for change and want to see crypto will be adapted on that nation. What Biden made from the past is really the downside of Harris party that's why they are now struggling to fight Trump since they know that he got the majority of support especially to those people who use crypto.

That's what they are doing and their party is open that they are not really into crypto that's why for sure those regulation or maybe banning most likely happen if Harris will win. Trumps strength is they adapt to the social issues and give hope to people that there's more better future for voter if they elect him as their new President.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with US politics. It is just a currency that politicians are using for campaigns. Associating Bitcoin with either the Republicans or Democrats is a big blunder.
Lol bitcoin being labeled as anti-government just to be associated with an american political party would be quite ironic and hilarious. People can't really be bothered to learn about the real definition and concept of bitcoin and instead chooses to associate it with just one ideology

Bitcoin is not anti-bitcoin. It is also not part of the government at all. It is an entirely separate entity from the government and centralized authorities.

How many of his businesses accept Bitcoin is a good question. Or how much of the coin has he bought and held since he started showing so much interest? We all know it is a political strategy because I have not seen any president who has shown genuine love for Bitcoin except Nayib Bukele of El Salvador. The government will always want centralization, which is against the goal of Bitcoin. Even if Trump has good intentions for Bitcoin, it will be to raise revenue through tax and push the coin towards centralization.

If Trump loses, then the Republican party will turn its back on Bitcoin because they will associated it with failure.

And Democrats will associate Bitcoin with Trump and right-winger stuff. This will be a disaster for Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin community getting in bed with Trump is incredible short-sighted.

Bitcoin is just one of the areas that Trump is using for Campaign, there are many other sectors. If Trump fails, nobody will blame Bitcoin because he already has many skeletons in his wardrobe. Politicians' talk is full of drama, they do things only for personal interests. Trump chose Bitcoin as the main topic in his campaign because currently the Bitcoin community is getting wider, he will sell anything in his campaign to get more sympathizers to support him. His campaign promises could not be held firmly, everything that came out of his mouth was merely sweeteners to make it easier for him to reach the highest throne in the USA government.

So far Trump has not done anything for Bitcoin, without his support Bitcoin has grown rapidly. Trump position in the Bitcoin industry is still very low compared to Nayib Bukele, these two politicians have very different views in helping Bitcoin adoption, Nayib Bukele immediately acted and has enjoyed huge results from Bitcoin while Trump is currently bringing Bitcoin to the political stage to gain sympathy from the Bitcoin community.

This is the 47th election in the United States and everyone understands the true nature of politicians, but why are people still mobilizing each other and willing to vote for the selected candidates? As @Taskford said, between choosing a bad person and a less bad person, who should we choose?
There are choices to vote but this is true that the election is choosing the best politician among some nominated politicians for the election in November. Many people disagree with these politicians and they can decide to stay at home, skip the election and watch it, give up their election rights. In another way, they can vote for a best politician in this election year and accept that their choice is good or bad, but at least they are ready to use their voting rights and make own decision.

It is true that we have no guarantee or certainty that if Trump is elected he will keep his promise. But we already know for sure that the Biden administration is not friendly to the crypto industry, and it is likely that Kalama will continue to maintain that attitude towards crypto if she is elected. This means Trump is less bad for us in this case, and as a bitcoin investor, I don't think there's any reason to support someone who hates us.
If Kamala becomes the Elected President, she will continue similar administration on cryptocurrency market like Biden, no doubt about what she will do with this market. If Trump becomes the elected President, he will be more likely bring better regulations, more friendly, than Biden administration and Kamala administration.

Since the time I am seeing Donald Trump is supporting the Bitcoin users, I am asking everyone not to become cheerful about it. Donald Trump is a politician. In a real world, you can trust a snake but you should not trust a politician. So be very cautious before taking Trump's words for it.

There is a very high chance that Trump will not do anything at all for the Bitcoin users in US after getting elected as a president. So think before your next actions around cryptocurrency. The laws are pretty much same and has not changed yet.

Trump has recognized that Bitcoin and crypto can bring him votes and he is taking full advantage of the hype he has created. I don't see it any different from when politicians promise tax reliefs, better education, higher employment rates, etc. It's empty promises in an attempt to get elected. He has also promised to end the current wars but he doesn't believe in it himself. War and the production and export of weapons is sadly what the US has become, and no president is going to change that. Everything else is just an illusion.

You are right, and besides that he promises a lot more, but I think everyone understands what his promises are worth. The election race is a kind of game, when presidential candidates compete who will better promise voters about a better life, and it does not matter much that they will not do what they say, because the most important thing is to win the election. Bitcoin for Trump is just one of the points on his list of what he must talk about in the election campaign, so do not have big illusions that Trump after winning can do something for Bitcoin, as well as stop wars or many other problems, that are too difficult to solve.

It's also worth to mention that ~1 million BTC is enough to make Satoshi enter top individual rich list[1].

I agree with the op that Trump is using Bitcoin to get elected, but we can't know what he will or won't do once he gets there. While he may personally still be sceptical about cryptos, he is a politician, and a very pragmatic one at that. So I think that if pushing crypto policies forward is going to be beneficial for him, he will go for it. If not, he will drop it and pretend there's nothing he can do because it is not within the President's functions to regulate financial matters in a democratic country. So he can always play the powerless card if he needs to, but perhaps pushing for cryptos will be in his best interest. I personally hope we'll never find out because he won't get elected, but we'll see.

If he win and use such excuse, that would be very ironic when his Project 2025 aims to give US president more authority.

Well, trump just predicted that Iran will attack Iran today.

His statement makes as much sense as what you wrote, completely meaningless....

Even if Iran does not attack, this statement from Trump will act as a reason for another dump for bitcoin and other markets.
Does he really knows if Iran will attack tonight and if that doesn't happen, what is the purpose of creating this panic?

Iran has announced that it will take revenge for the attack that happened a few days ago, so you don't have to be too smart to write something like that. Trump just wants to appear smart and be in the center of attention, and the "war" between Israel and Iran has been going on for decades - the only problem is that they are about 1000 km away from each other, so it is a completely different kind of war than the one that is happening in Ukraine.

No one helped Bitcoin.

People said Elon Musk's tweet make Bitcoin price increase, Tesla stop accepting Bitcoin make Bitcoin price dump, Trump talking about Bitcoin make Bitcoin price increase, Warren Buffet saying Bitcoin is a bubble make Bitcoin price dump etc.

They're have no correlation with Bitcoin, the only reason why Bitcoin price increase or decrease is from supply and demand.

As long as they didn't spend a lot money to buy Bitcoin or selling their coins, they have zero impact.

Are you not connecting supply and demand with fundamental news? Whether it has no correlation at all, it seems that it has become a belief and has a great correlation. We have agreed and the news has become an issue called Fundamental. Because this belief has been agreed upon and the market is often affected by that fundamental. Because investors will also connect in any condition. It has been proven, you can relate the history of bitcoin's movement and the issue of fundamental issues that occur.

Bitcoin went up 500% under president Biden.

That's not to say that Biden directly caused this to happen, but rather it's pointing out that Harris winning the election instead of Trump will be absolutely fine for Bitcoin, whereas Trump brings a unique new risk of Bitcoin getting trashed by all of the radical changes to the US economy he is proposing.

In this environment, with this track record, the reasonable thing to do here is stick with what has worked. Anybody can "imagine" a bunch of things a populist politician (with a criminal record in this case) can do to help their Bitcoin portfolio, but wishes aren't reality. And no politician is going to give the billionaire Bitcoin whales (the ones giving Trump millions right now) everything they wanted no matter what.

For the average Bitcoin investor, the logical move here is to stay the course and vote for Harris.

Personally, I have followed up his speech and commented on series of post here in the forum relating to his speech where he talked about embracing Bitcoin if he is elected as the next president of America but then I think people shouldn't believe everything he has said so far because when he is elected now he will still need to pass what ever he wants to do with bitcoin to bill and until it is approved and supported by majority of the Senate the bill will not be implemented.

He may be fighting to be elected for the second time in office but if he really thinks using Bitcoin to gain political grounds will help him win the election then I think he will also understand that the majority of the citizens of America are believers of Bitcoin and if he wants to make them happy fulfilling the promises he made to his people shouldn't be that difficult for him to do.

The topic Politicians are not our tribe resonates with me because I feel the same way as the OP. Politicians are not bitcoin allies. The government is all about control and they cannot control bitcoin so when a politician whose past records shows that he is not a believer in bitcoin starts changing his stance on bitcoin (during elections btw) looks very suspicious to me.

Trump was never a big supporter of Bitcoin when he was in office. Whoever in Trump’s camp that came up with the “bitcoin strategy” deserves a promotion because it has given Trump a lot of support in the bitcoin and crypto community. Even though many of us are sceptical about Trump keeping his campaign promises, Trump is still getting a lot of publicity from all this because we are talking about him a lot.

Trump will do nothing in the crypto world if he succeeds in becoming the US president, he is only using Bitcoin and others to ascend to the throne.

I agree, but what's the alternative? IMO if you're voting for Trump because all you care about is that he'll pump bitcoin, you're naive, or maybe you're a gambler who put a few grand into this and think of it like it's a bet. That said, there's some chance he at least won't try to suppress it, or draw it out of the country like Biden and his party. Do you remember how they wanted to restrict companies from mining bitcoin and make companies assign client wallets to their ID's? Sometimes doing nothing and letting the industry grow without interference is better.

I don't really understand why Trump public acceptance of bitcoin and promises to the bitcoin community is causing much debate every now and then. If he was anti bitcoin in the past does it mean he will remain anti bitcoin forever? How many of us accepted bitcoin whole heartedly the first time bitcoin was introduced to us, if we all did majority of us would be millionaires in dollars by now. Trump is a human and if he once had doubts about bitcoin in the past and now he has now realized himself like most of us did in the past, why crucify  him or make him look like he is doing something that is abominable. Even if Trump win the presidential election and don't do as he has promised, nothing will still happen. Bitcoin will still remain bitcoin.

Talk is cheap; politicians can go ahead and say whatever they like; we ain't gonna be moved by that. We wait for them on the pull to cast our vote. Trump knows this; that's why he's giving speeches that will entice people to vote for him.

Already, Americans are wiser enough not to vote for Trump all because he supports Bitcoin. He has in the past talked bad about Bitcoin, not to believe in it. Seeing him believing in Bitcoin this time looks fishy and can't be trusted.

I was laughing out loud when some fellas were given the reason that Trump was behind the price increase of Bitcoin a few days back. Now, the Bitcoin price is on the downside. Has Trump backed off from supporting Bitcoin?

I think the unexpected decline of bitcoin has taught those so believers of Trump, that Trump has no control of the market. Bitcoin can rise, or decrease at any time it feels like without anyone's supporting his growth or not.

It's simply, a politician once told me "believe politician's campaign promises at your own detriment", which simply means that, they cant be trusted no matter how good or true they appear to be.

The current president of Nigeria made almost the same promise when he said that he will unban crypto transactions in Nigeria if he wins and becomes Nigerian president, he eventually won and now, he and his cohort have gone after cryptocurrency exchanges and banning citizens of Nigeria access to them, this is how dubious politicians are and can be.

There is correlation of these people with Bitcoin, all I can say is that they are influential to different communities because of their success. Elon Musk became the richest man under a year, thanks to his Tesla stock that performed well. Trump as a past president of the united state and now the current face of republicans, they all have influence on anything but the influence are only temporary, they only want Bitcoin to do when and how they want it.

Although, I can't call that helping Bitcoin, all of them are doing it because of their selfish interests. Trump wouldn't have go to Bitcoin conference if not for his political ambition, Elon Musk wouldn't have influence people to buy Bitcoin if not for his own interest in Doge and ways to double money. They don't care about Bitcoin but their own ways of benefit they will get from Bitcoin.

For me trump has already made a wonderful impact on Bitcoin, but he may do this to gain support in other to become the next president of the United State of America however we all should not get bothered about that all we should worry about is if Bitcoin is growing and if yes we all should be happy about that.

This is what I have been saying for a while now. Not that I have a standing in regards to his presidency but I know he's been a big antagonist of cryptocurrencies back when he was still seated, most presidents are anyways, and now that he's looking to have a seat at the top echelon again he's suddenly all for bitcoin? And I'm not too interested with what he proposed (effectively creating a treasury of bitcoin that they'd probably use as reserve currency for when shit hits the fan). I don't like it cause it reduces bitcoin and cryptocurrencies into nothing but a way for these motherfucks to bolster their economy, when it was supposed to be for the people and the advancement of technology in the first place. It's just stupid.

I implore people to really see what this sudden change in his disposition for what it is, just a tactic to gather more votes. Soon as he gets seated pretty sure that he's not gonna do shit about it, may even go so far as to double down on his hatred towards cryptocurrencies.

Change the narrative and it should be "Does bitcoin help Trump?" since for sure every result or post answered to that question is Trump is the one who gain benefits from bitcoin.

Every thing he do for now is to talk about this coin and hype their crowd. But so far there's no remarkable action or other helpful things he done for bitcoin since maybe he don't have power yet to create law and regulate it.

But even if there's lot of doubts about Trumps support on crypto and bitcoin still wanna see him show that he's true to his word and totally support bitcoin.
Trump has never helped bitcoin but it’s him who’s starting to benefit from bitcoin. That’s the reality that even himself is completely aware of it. Because of bitcoin, he’s probably more confident now to beat Harris believing that he will be the bitcoin’s community favorite now. However I believe the bitcoin’s community will never allow to get deceived of course, if Trump is using bitcoin, then we will make sure that we will also get to benefit from Trump from hyping bitcoin.

If we don't vote for Trump, should we vote for the Democrats, for Harris? The one who will almost certainly continue to pursue the draconian policies toward crypto and crypto that Biden left behind?

Everyone knows that the nature of politicians is to be very cunning, deceitful and even regardless of everything just to achieve their goals. Those who vote for Trump do not mean they completely trust Trump or turn him into a cult that obeys him. They voted for him as if they were betting and giving themselves a chance because if he is elected and keeps his promise, the crypto industry will have a chance to grow stronger. Meanwhile, if we vote for Harris, we have almost no chance at all.

We only have 2 candidates, meaning we only have 2 options and can only choose 1 of the 2, we don't have a third choice that is better than those 2 people. That's the problem.
This is really something that we should be very careful with our decision. Both Harris and Trump may possibly become threats for crypto after election, and forget all what they’ve said in the campaign period.

However, despite how Trump condemned bitcoin in the past, now he is already giving full support for crypto or bitcoin which isn’t a surprise because he is in need for his winning votes from bitcoin community. So if he’ll be given a chance to win in the upcoming election and fulfill his bitcoin goals, then we will greatly benefit from it, compared to Harris who’s clearly seen to be less supportive for crypto, how much more if she’ll win, she’ll even forget about crypto and its community.

To be honest, Trump has not done anything for bitcoin and us so far, but we cannot rush to assert that he will break his promises or not deliver on what he claims if elected. Everything is still unknown, no one has the right to judge anyone at the present time when the final election results are not yet available. On the opposite side, Biden or Kamala made almost no statements related to cryptocurrency during their election campaign. That shows that no matter which Democrats are elected, they still do not want to appear as crypto-friendly as the current administration is treating the crypto industry.

OP, have you checked the markets today, a recession is approaching under Biden's presidency. I don't think any of us want this situation to continue so there is no reason to continue voting for Democratic candidates.

It's politics. If you ever start believing in politicians, be aware first if it's a period where there's something political related that they need support in, and if it's so, then yeah, you're probably being fooled, as usual, by politics. IF he actually gave a damn about crypto, he would've done something about it before the election period even began. And then milked people for their support afterwards. Pretty sure no one would complain if that was the order of events.

For now the lesser evil is Trump so most provably people will go with him since for sure he will not do anything bad to bitcoin since he include on each speech he made when he try to convince and win the heart of people.
Have to agree with this one despite what I said earlier lol. This is regardless of what would they do to crypto really since if I were to pick between Harris and Trump, definitely would go for Trump.

I thought about it, too. Is the choice so wide? Probably the better choice of two evils is always the lesser. Any politician goes straight ahead. He will talk about his interests to those who are interested in something, just to support his person. How many politicians do we know who have fulfilled their promises? Trump is the same; everything he wants to popularize today will become forbidden tomorrow. His slogan "Make America Great Again" can be viewed from all sides, but the result, alas, will be the same. Everything that concerns freedom is unacceptable.

I meant it, too. Because Harris' position can be seen now and all the time when she was around Biden. Nothing new. But if she becomes the new president (I think about it with horror), then not only should we not count on Bitcoin support, but everything else will go to hell.

But we cannot really expect anything huge from them since provably they still protect their own interest and for sure that crypto will be less in their priority. But good thing about it if they win is for sure they would let people to use bitcoin and they don't put heavy restriction. For me that's fine since as long as people could use bitcoin in their country then I guess everything still fine. Trump is really so smart for creating good gimmicks that's one of reason why he easily catch the interest of people.

I'm not in doubt that Trump has been politicizing the existence of bitcoin for his political interests and I still can't find a proof that this same one man bitcoin enthusiast can influence a whole global bitcoin market as rumours speculates that Donald Trumps political image has influences over bitcoin price.
But though, I agree that he can influence bitcoin to attract more adoptors as a global political influencer he's but not to say that he has the audacity to twart or determine the price of bitcoin.

It’s recognizable that his relationship with Bitcoin has been complex. He previously criticized Bitcoin, but during his 2024 speech, he praised its achievements. He even likened Bitcoin enthusiasts to historical innovators like Edison and the Wright brothers. However, actions speak louder than words.

This is bout facing the reality rather than getting caught up in hype. His recent interest in Bitcoin seems more like a strategic move to gain support rather than a genuine endorsement. Given his past condemnation of Bitcoin, his sudden shift to painting himself as its champion is suspect.

IMO those who eligible to vote should consider other aspect besides cryptocurrency regulation as well. For example, Trump's Project 2025 also contain draconian policies on many fields.

We only have 2 candidates, meaning we only have 2 options and can only choose 1 of the 2, we don't have a third choice that is better than those 2 people. That's the problem.

Actually there are other candidates[1], but there's almost no chance they'll win.

I use to classify adage based on situation, and their is an old adage I will like us to reference to in this statement which goes like me this.

Show me a prostitute who is a Virgin, and I will show you a politician who doesn't lie.

Note this is not about lieing but a point to take cognisance of, because Trump falls under such category as a politician, take whatever promises they make during campaign as just sermon, and the real action will come when they get to office, so regardless of what Trump promised the cryptocurrency community in the bitcoin conference, still will not hold ground on the long, if he falls to act accordingly to his promise regarding cryptocurrency no one will question him, since it just campaign and not policies of government, so no evidence to prove his actions and inaction in such instances, so let not be overly concerned with his speech now and all through the campaign and election period, because that is just a tool, Trump is using to gain the interest of the citizens in his direction, so we have to come up with some more valuable discussions and try as much as possible to pay less attention to Trump or any other politicians who may deverse a means to use cryptocurrency popularity to build more votes for themselves.
It's likely that we may still see the others condenders in this election employing other means aside from cryptocurrency to build that followership from the electorates, between that and bitcoin we should know that it just a means to a politician to use whatever aspects they see that is a concern and have the interest of the verse majority's to campaign with.

There is no ban on using Bitcoin as a political issue. You must know, politics always uses any side to get sympathizers as supporters. Regardless of what Trump looks like, I feel he has made an impact for Bitcoin. It's not a fake or genuine problem, but crypto is currently in the business industry. The ultimate goal of the majority of investors is that money is not a profitable adoption such as a means of exchange or digital money. Most have understood this condition, not many people have purely become a bitcoin adopter without thinking about profits. When a person wants to be bold or have an impact, he must have power and Trump is doing that process through election as a presidential candidate.

Trump will want or not want, will successfully do or fail to do something for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency industry, only time can tell. He as a President, can not do everything with given power and rights under the USA. Constitution, it's reality.

But let me ask you, do you think that is it coincidence that Bitcoin Spot ETFs and Ethereum Spot ETFs were approved recent months in 2024, the President Election Year?

It's not coincidence, there are reasons behind it and I don't attribute it all to Trump but the fact is under pressure of US. citizens and politicians of the opposite party, the White House and Biden administration had to change, they have no choice. Attribute it to Trump, to Republic Party, you decide, I am not argue with you on it.
