So I just bought a Radeon 6850 which was happily churning out a good ~200 Mh/s.  After a day or so of running, it's now running at a top speed of ~70 Mh/s.  I've had the fan manually on fully speed and it's definitely not overheated.  I've quit all programs as well, and the catalyst center shows 100% activity.   Any idea why this happened?  Did I blow one of the gpus?

edit: with a second restart, I'm now getting ~200 again, but it fluctuates a whole lot.  strange

Sounds like it could actually be an issue with your power supply. Maybe going out on you or not powerful enough.

MSI afterburner does not work on Radeons  Wink

you should do a little more research before posting  Grin

It's obvious that you have a problem with nster, but intentionally spreading misinformation will only hurt those who are seeking assistance. Perhaps you should look for other ways to express your feelings.

thank you, I am falling for his trick by getting aggravated by him but at least people see the truth so imana try to stay cool lol

A simple "Yes it does" would not do justice to how wrong you are.

It has probably clocked itself into 2D mode, launch a 3D application (A Game Etc) and it should go back into 3D speeds.

Did I blow one of the gpus?

There's only one GPU in a 6850.
