Oh, when talking about "instant payment" I'm thinking about cashing out the confirmed BTC at any time you like (instead of waiting until auto-payouts commence)

Read through the MtRed thread, if you're that concerned. Its never had instant payout, it's always been 120 confirmations, because the pool pays out the transaction fees included in the block, waiting until after the block is found makes the payment calculations easier.

I thought instant payout meant I didn't have to wait for confirmations

MtRed has always been wait 120 confirmations. Where do you see instant payout?

Still on MTRed, do they have instant payouts? It seems 120 confirmations required before payout, correct?

People are complaning that they're not paying NMC anymore and their website claims they still pays it.

If you look at the stats up top, you can see it's been over 3 months since the last NMC block was found. Merged mining was turned off because the pool owner couldn't get the blockchains to merge correctly. He's said he's working on it, but I think it can be pretty much assumed they are no longer Merged mining.

redditorrex isn't trying to hide something, he's just slow to fix things that go wrong, and MtRed is known to be bad for downtime, however I think it's been better lately, since the beginning of september, I think.

Edit: to answer the OP's question, no pool hashrate doesn't matter if you're being paid by PPS. Your number of shares and the Pay rate matters. Because with PPS, you're paid whether a block is found or not(unless the pool specifies that invalid/orphaned blocks are not paid).

with PPS you get paid the same value per share across a difficulty period. Unlike payout systems with variance pool hashrate doesn't matter to PPS miners as the Pool Operator is taking the variance and guarantee payout at the rate they specify.

As long as the PPS poolop has sufficient funds to cover his variance - times of bad luck- everything should turn out fine Smiley

Are they actually paying 0.0000163686078119/share? Or have they forgot to update their website it on the last difficulty change?

If I'm comparing two mining pools in terms of payout, is the overall hash rate of the mining pool important?

If one pool has a slightly lower PPS rate but a much higher hash rate, is it worth switching to a pool with a much lower hash rate but a slightly higher PPS rate?

I noticed a better payout when I switched from a top pool to another top pool with a better PPS, but they were comparable in terms of hash rate. In other words I switched from Deepbit to 50BTC and noticed a better payout. They're comparable in terms of hash rate, but 50BTC has a better PPS. (Also 50BTC has a nice web interface!  Wink )

I'm thinking of trying out Mt Red, as they are tops in terms of PPS. However they're not close to 50BTC's hash rate.

Also just for the record I tried the 50miner mining software. It seemed slightly slower than giuminer, even though it has a nicer interface.
