If you are not seeing any addresses after a restore then that means there is a problem with the electrum server you are connected to. So open your old wallet, change to a different server and then try doing a restore again.

What I have read is that I need to delete the Electrum directory, but I can't figure this one out. If anyone knows how to do this on a mac...I would love to give it a shot!

I was going to suggest downloading the portable version but I see that it's only available for Windows. Sad

Here is a thread where someone asked how to create a new Electrum wallet on OS X (although it's from 2013 so the poster refers to electrum.dat which no longer exists):

Relevant quote:

How do you create a new wallet?

I want a to make/get a new seed

I've used Electrum OSX!
Your wallet is located in your home directory in ~/.electrum
The wallet file is called 'electrum.dat'
If you want to create a new wallet (which will come from a new seed), you can use the terminal to rename the current wallet so the next time you run electrum, it will create a new wallet.
ie:
Code:
mv ~/.electrum/electrum.dat ~/.electrum/electrum.dat.old

So you could basically just rename the wallet file that you want to use.

More information about the wallet file on OS X from the Electrum wiki:

Just installed new electrum and indeed there is no electrum.dat. Wallet file is now in wallets folder and called 'default_wallet'.

Unfortunately that's not the case. The seed I have (written down and on photo) are for my first and only wallet besides my coinbase storage. When I use to the seed to regenerate the wallet, it creates an empty new wallet. I can still switch to the desired wallet with BTC but the password remains invalid. What I have read is that I need to delete the Electrum directory, but I can't figure this one out. If anyone knows how to do this on a mac...I would love to give it a shot!

can't you just delete everything regarding the electrum installation and re-do all from zero? just keep the seed and the wallet

you should find easily your folder installation

Operating Electrum on Mac OSX. I have a few BTC in my wallet that I am unable to transfer bc I do not have my password. I DO have my seed, but when I try to recover my wallet with the seed, it just creates a new empty wallet on the same electrum account. Please help...I know theoretically my seed should regain me access to my BTC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you have the seed for a wallet you've never used instead of the one with your holdings, would that be possible?
