For some extend yes we cannot control our future but most of it we can because the future is created according to what we do today

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I think your perspective on this issue must depend on what country you're from. I know that people will always find something to complain about, no matter how good things are, but I think there are some countries where people feel that they have control over their future. I find it an awfully pessimistic thing to say that nothing is in the interest of the people. Violence should not be the answer. There is power in numbers. If you feel like the people have lost control in your country, you need to start talking. You need to start organizing people to band together, rise up, and make a change. Violence should be avoided as much as possible, even if the government uses violence against you.

Ancient wisdom says that you need to have the power to influence what you can change, to understand that there are things that you can not influence and it is necessary to have the wisdom to distinguish these things.
Our future is in our hands. I mean that we have the opportunity to study, change the profession, the sphere of activity, to earn money etc.
But we have very little influence on the future of mankind. But this is not news. It was like that at all times.

I agree, because we are the one that will make our future and don't rely on other people with your future. We are the one who makes our dreams possible. We can do everything we want but we must also know our limit and knows the good and the bad, so that in the future, your life will be comfortable and not going to be misserable.

Man has freedom to build his future. we haven't lost power of control of our future .
    You can do anything
     Just get up and do it

Most of the power to control our future are in the hands of the politicians because we gave it to them and when they come into power, they don't seem to care about anyone else at all. But people have made their own future through sheer force and determination at all.

I agree, if we work harder today and do your best what you can at this moment, for sure you will enjoy your fruit in the future, and what's the result of your hard work after all. I don't think that we have lost our power to control our future. After all, we are still the one who will make our future better.

You are not a victim of your past and you are not a prisoner of your present circumstances, however challenging they are. Perhaps you feel trapped inside your own body, you feel like a foreigner has invaded your mind and it’s pure torture. Your mind is a wonderful, powerful organ, but you must take control and understand that it reaps exactly what you plant, and can work for you or against you.

I know a lot of people who complain that yesterday everythimg was better, that poverty rises, fear of migration, foreign influence etc.
But when I ask those people what they are planning to do about it they all say they can‘t do anything.
Bit it would be so easy to do little things that in the end would some up.
It‘s not that we lost our power to shape our future, itös that we lost our will it seems.

Complaining and hoping that someone else will fix our problems is just way more conveinient.
And without making your own hands dirty you even get to complain if someone fails trying.

Great question and I often think about this. I dont even wish to consider violence, there SHOULD be many other means towards change. I really do hope we can without recurring to violent methods. Thing is, the state we are in right now is so serious it may have to come to that for the power to be in peoples hands again, unless theres a radical change up top, we express, then they listen and act accordingly (which i doubt ). Best thing we could hope for would be an alternative the economic system weve known forever, to have a choice between centralised or decentralised, fiat or crypto. Theres never been a choice before, just a "this is the world you are in. Deal with it"

I believe that still, we do have control on our future. It is cliché term that our future is in our hands, but it is indeed that we can do something for our future. Yes, we do experience violence and problems we experienced, it doesn't lost our control in our future. I believe that a good mindset in the present would bring you to a better future. If we focus on those things that can be beneficial to you and to others, we can make ourselves capable of achieving that kind of future. We should consider those for I believe that we have the most powerful toll to control our future, and that is ourselves.

All power belong to God but they say in the bible that heaven help those who help them self for the future to bright work towards it by planning of how to make in future now

Yes. If 1% of the population were to stop paying taxes and seize control of the means of production through peaceful labor movements, then it would quickly spread to the majority of the workforce and overturn the current economic system.

Bolivia had a worker-based revolution, and this empowered their democratically-elected leader to do anything. Because the strongest, most powerful force in any nation is its workforce.

Instead, we are encouraged to blame each other for the systemic corruption in the power structure, which incentivizes exploitation. Polarization of the workforce allows the political, economic, military and intel elite to 'divide and conquer' the people.

Revolutions are easy to nip in the bud:

1) The risk of labor movements can be culled through right-to-work laws and firing anyone who attempts to unionize.
2) Tax evasion and blockades can be punished with jailtime and tear gas.
3) Violent revolutions can usually be subverted by the military elite, who reap the benefits (e.g. Leninism). This is most effective when the media and academia are under economic control of the military.
4) Grassroots movements can be marginalized by taking control of television and social media to censor and slander activists.
5) The risk of democratic revolution can be subverted by assassination, crosscheck, redistricting, voter machine fractionalization, voter purging (not allowing certain demographics to vote).
6) Any political movement will collapse under heavy polarization. Humans are tribalistic and will often value identity politics and shortcuts over cooperation and common ground. The trick is to offer something different to each demographic, and have them fight over it. Polarization becomes EXTREMELY effective when one corrupt party offers some human rights while an opposing corrupt party offers different human rights, so you have to choose between gay rights, minimum wage, or healthcare, but you don't get to vote on gun laws or net neutrality or overseas wars or economic equality. Heck - congress doesn't get to vote on overseas wars! Incrementalism combined with polarization and media smearing of activists is an effective protection of the status quo. With incrementalism, you force people to choose which rights they want at the expense of other rights.
7) Anyone who might potentially overcome these obstacles can easily be preemptively culled (e.g. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, the homeless).

Violent revolutions led by the proletariat only occur when the proletariat is desperate. Elites can offer hope in the form of incrementalism, promises, the American Dream, consumer products, religion, entertainment, and - most effectively - actually fixing shit! But elites won't be able to fix the collapse of agriculture, industry, and transportation if they don't transition the economy, power grid, food production, consumer goods and transportation away from 100% reliance on petroleum. So the #1 way to prevent a violent revolution is to prevent blowback in the first place by offering:
A) Democracy
and
B) Means of survival

A lot of people are now being scared of speaking up even when they should. And that's how we gradually allow other people make policies that do not favor us.

 It is very crucial to answer the question that whether we lost power to control our future. If we look at present days then we will find that people are not so happy as they were in previous days. Day by day people are hankering after money, crazy for fame and other craving for fake parts of gorgeous life that actually has no importance in the case of bringing happiness. So, if such situations continue then it will be hard to control our future. If we want to control our valuable life and time in future we should care for others. We must live together. We should avoid wars and must not make ourselves busy at fake works. If we follow such ways then there is a hope of getting chance to control our future.

Well, there are circumstances and hindrances to consider other than what we can do to control our future, as people say that the power to change our future is in our own hands. Indeed, the power is within us, and that power is our ability to act in the present. And I do believe that we haven't lost that power. Despite challenges and violence, we are still capable of doing things in today's world. We are at our greatest power to act in a good and powerful manner that will surely make a difference someday. It is not only what we can do that will determine our future but it is what we think we can do. A proper mindset will bring us the power to control our future.

We can modify our future to some extent. But we can't control it at all. And even the way we modify it is not clear, because everything works through cause and effect.

I watched an interesting film on this topic. And I liked the idea that our future is already defined but we can still change it by the things that we do.

It depends on what people doing, if they change the things that they do then the future will be change. But we all know that we dont know what happens in the future, so do the things that you know its right for you, so that your future will be good and succesful.

I guess half of this is true. We have lost our power to control our future as our lives have depended on the internet. The internet is now controlling us. Not a day that we don’t seem to face the internet. Even our children, they are no longer the children we used to be.

The fact that cause and effect exists in everything that we have found out about so far, shows us that we don't have any power at all to control our future. We might feel like we have this power, but even the feeling has been caused by our environment. So, why do some of us envision and use power differently than others? After all, we are controlled by C&E to be that way. Are we all pawns in a super-chess game, being played by the gods? Or do they exist by cause and effect, as well?

First off, before we can have control of anything, we need to be self aware of ourselves, mentally, physically,  The future belongs to those who are self aware of themselves presently, break free from the mental slavery that we have been subjected to, only then can we have the power to control our future with our own hands .

Only we can determine our future. (I think) no one can affect our future. So, whatever we do today we will enjoy the results in the future.

The liberals & leftists want bigger government and with that comes more restrictions and limits on what's permissible and one's freedom. If you want to be in an overly PC world and for your culture to essentially be fungible etc. then you are asking for your future to be in the hands of others whether directly or tacitly.

According to me, Humanity have not lost the power of controlling their futures yet. But, as long as artificial intelligences improve, people will have lose the power of control everything not just controlling future for sure. This improvement will bring human being's end.

No we don't... its just the intervening events that sometime changes the tract that we want to traverse but we still control our future

Our destiny is ultimate determine to our decision ,the full control of our choice is your actions, sometimes the lesson of hard decision should be   learned as we grow person ,we need to take action on the future to accomplish by its opportunity ,presented by you fate, to leads as though life or we can shape your own destiny,we believe that the free- well are they both to influence in our lives,because it is not in the start to hold our future but in ourselves  ,

You can bet we never had the power to control out future. And by the way, nobody had. Occasionally some have the power to control our present - but it's not necessarily us.

In my opinion there is still an opportunity to correct everything. But it is necessary to achieve a good future now before it is too late.

Man created by God and man have free will.
Like the first he create Adam and Eve. They have will to use in the right way and will is the power of man to chose what is right and wrong.
They used their power in wrong way by eating the forbidden fruit.

If we use the power in a wrong way we loss the good future. Loose not the bright future control by using the right way.

we have a power to chose the right way for us within the borders the society sets up for us. We have the power but on some level only.

Actually we do have the power, we always did and we always will.

Currently the politicians and governments are doing everything in their interest driven by greed, at the expense of ordinary people. We are being led to believe they know better.

Good people need to come together to peacefully create a better world order. We can build a true democracy based on the block chain, where people's needs are fulfilled.

Maybe we are just becoming aware that we don't have this power, that we have never had.

While there are things that we can control in our life, there are areas that are still inevitable for us. Thus, we should not focus on the uncontrollable stuff but do our best so we can improve our way of living.

We hold our own future in our own hands, it only depends on us on how we do things, how we make decisions in this life. Ether we comeback when we fall down or we stay lying and let the world control our life. 

we never have the power to control future. if it their means then world becomes blost or somethings wrong may happens in the world. actually good persons use they power for doing good to people but few bad people using powers to destroy the world so we don't give like that chance any one. so powers not good and contrlo to future. it is highly impossible.

Of course not, every individual still has the power to control their own future because every one has the right to decide on what they want. Including the choices that can certainly affect their own future. Everyone wants to be successful in life and no one will let their lives be controlled by others.

We never had the power to control our future. It's just that things are now moving very fast so that our impotence becomes more evident.

Violence is not the answer and if we are discussing these things freely then nothing has slipped through our fingers.

I understand that we still physically have the power, that if we all banded together under a single banner and stopped the ravaging of the earth and stopped our political warmongering, then we would be able to salvage ourselves. I am worried that we have been manipulated into a state where we can no longer congregate and actually solve these problems, that the systems that are in place have their talons dug in so far that we cannot remove them without it all falling apart. We can try and remove them one by one and repair the damage as it arrises, but that might be too slow of a process.

It depends, our future really depends in our hands. So, if we don't do something about our current situation (world), I thin that the world will be ruined completely in the future. There would be war, the nature will be ruined, and the world would be in a complete mess.

It doesn't seem like anything these days is in the interest of the people. Has it slipped through our fingers? Can we ever take it back other than through violence?
