On April 15, 2011, the US Department of Justice shut down Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker for US citizens.
As far as casinos - online or brick and mortar, no, I have never been banned or dismissed for winning too much, lol.
I have never seen anyone banned in real life for winning too much at a casino. In fact, one time I watched as a Russian mafia boss win all the chips at a craps table once at the Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City. He was drunk AF surrounded by bodyguards playing by himself at a $25 min craps table. No one else was allowed to play at the table. Anyway, I watched as he won all the chips at the table - over $500K worth in a span of about 5 hours or so.
When the the table ran out of chips, they did a chip refill because the drunk Russian mafia boss wanted to keep on playing on the same table. He was so drunk, he couldn't even stand. He sat in one of those chairs for blackjack and had to be held up in his seat by one of his bodyguards. He won ~150k more of the new chips before he finally quit and was taken up to his room by his bodyguards according to the dealers.
If you want to see a documentary series about people getting banned for winning too much or cheating casinos, watch the series, "Breaking Vegas."
HOLY CRAP! That's one lucky dude! Haha! So was the house trying to get him to play, hoping he would lose? Why wasn't anyone else allowed to play? 0.o
I used to play in a electronic roulette casino game, those big platforms when you sit and tap on a screen and see the ball rolling in the center. I swear that I had some sort of pattern figured out, I knew when certain numbers would come up and the times. Of course it was not always 100% sure but I've never encountered a situation like this in my life.
I used to go every other day, bet with $20 and came out with $100. Sometimes I got much more than that. I must have won more than $2000. Sometimes it took more time since the ball bounced back from the actual number/bet I had but it was clear the roulette send the ball in that direction. Anyway to cut the story short, a guy approached once and did some light talk (he was from the casino), something about drinks, whatever, you know, he was just testing me and getting closer.
I had to leave the city for months, when I came back the roulette game was replaced. You draw your own conclusions, haha.
LOL! You had to leave the city? Were you scared or something? Or just felt it was time to move on?
Really, you didn't win that much for them to be hounding you (imo), you could have easily abused it. But you shouldn't be harassed, not really
In physical casinos, I have heard of people getting 'asked' to leave because they are winning too much(I've never been in one to know)-- I always thought this wasn't right, since the business pretty much rips everyone else off, and it's unfair if someone is really that lucky, but whatever, that's just the crap you got to deal with!
So I was wondering... have any of you been banned or 'dismissed' from the more popular online casinos because you were that skillful and/or lucky?
I'm not talking about using the free money they give you and making wild bets (I can understand why a site would ban you for that...)
I have never seen such thing happening online, the (old) software driven casino's were always rigged so the luck would always runs out fast enough, and the provably fair casino's that are online now don't look at a individual players really, they see it as a whole and for the long run.
So someone being really lucky at times will only be good advertisement to the site i think.
But some games, it's not just luck, but skill. Like Dice and Blackjack. You can win at those (especially dice), without even trying... But yes, if you're going to actually cheat (use programs, tricks, hacks) to win,
that deserves a ban.
Well, that is their rule so we cannot expect that it is 100% fair, while we are just gamblers we should just play for fun because we are just gong to lose our money betting on dice games with huge house edge.
Well, that is true, heh. We don't have to play there, but if it's not disclosed ahead of time... it's not really right.
I don't intend to get greedy though, so I should do just fine.
I'll come back and reply to the others in the morning, thanks for your replies. I am tired now. You all have some interesting stories, very comical, heh.
